Charlotte, NC -- LCI Corporation recently supplied a new Mass Flow Feeder (Circle Feeder™) for discharging proprietary catalyst formulations. This was the fifth feeder supplied to this company and is intended for general use. The two initial Circle Feeders were mounted in a fixed location, but used to feed different products to a kiln.

A wide variety of products were successfully processed with the first two feeders, from free flowing powders to granules. After using these feeders for two years, the manufacturer invested in a second pair of Circle Feeders for a different location. Now a year later, they purchased a fifth.

A representative for the company stated “In my opinion, our Circle Feeders have been the best thing we ever invested in. We'd like to convince management to buy more of them for other applications. We have fed all kinds of material with them, varying from one extreme to the other.”

The patented Circle Feeder™, manufactured by Yoshikawa Corporation of Japan, is a unique type of mass flow feeder that accurately and consistently discharges difficult-to-flow solid materials. The Mass Flow Feeder’s unique features make it suitable for materials in a wide variety of applications including Power, Chemical, Food, Pulp and Paper, Cement, Ceramics, Plastics, and Pharmaceuticals.

Advantages to utilizing Circle Feeders are elimination of bridging (inlet sizes available that exceed most materials’ critical arching diameter), plug flow (first in – first out), low maintenance, wide range of discharge rates (variable speed drive), minimum segregation, and superior turndown ratio (30:1).
