NEPONSET, IL -- A newly-designed piston with advanced seal technology has been added to all Big Blaster® Air Cannons, improving discharge performance and allowing Martin Engineering to streamline its air cannon product line.
Big Blaster® Air Cannons supply a discharge of a reservoir of compressed air to improve the flow of solids from storage vessels.
All Big Blaster® XHV Air Cannons and Big Blaster® Air Cannons with Martin® Tornado Exhaust Valves are now equipped with a new “flat-nose” piston that can be used in either ambient- or high-temperature conditions.
The new “flat-nose” piston design incorporates a static urethane seal that provides a long-wearing, airtight seal that is resistant to elevated temperatures, making the new design appropriate for both ambient- and high-temperature applications. The new design also improves system performance by providing a faster air discharge.
With the new design, Martin Engineering has streamlined its Big Blaster® XHV Air Cannon product line by eliminating the XHV–H (High Temperature) and XHV–A (Ambient Temperature) models and their respective XHV–H and XHV–A valves.
Martin Engineering developed and patented the low-pressure pneumatic blasting systems in the 1970s and is still the leader in the application of air cannon technologies to improve materials handling.
Big Blaster® XHV Air Cannons and Big Blaster® Air Cannons with MARTIN® TORNADO Exhaust Valves are covered by U.S. and international patents issued and pending.
