Cincinnati, OH -- To guard against injuries and property damage caused by explosions in bucket elevators transporting bulk solids, Elfab has introduced the Lift-Gard rupture panel. Solely designed for use in protecting bucket elevators, the low-cost, easy-to-install panel provides maintenance-free explosion venting and rupture notification.
In bucket elevators transporting substances such as flour, sugar, grain and sand, dusts of these combustible solids can give rise to explosions. Elfab's Lift-Gard provides instant pressure relief with rapid full venting of the enclosure to contain damage.
The Lift-Gard is the only flat venting system to combine both an integral frame and a detection device, Elfab's unique Flo-Tel(TM), in one unit. Should Flo-Tel(TM) detect an initial explosion inside the elevator shaft, it will automatically switch-off the elevator motors, reducing both the risk of a further explosion and the risk of the elevator operating with open explosion vents.

Available in a range of sizes, burst pressures and temperature ranges, Lift-Gard comes in stainless steel as standard and is available with lead times of only one week. The venting system is supplied ready for installation, requiring just six bolts to secure its outlet frame directly onto the elevator, without the need for additional frames or any welding.
Elfab, a Halma group company, designs and manufactures bursting discs, explosion vents and associated detection devices. These intelligent pressure relief systems protect people, plant and equipment across the globe. Elfab also delivers unique design, testing and consulting services for pressure management.
