New : Palletless Bulk Bag

Sydney, Australia -- The pallet-less bag invention is not new. It came about in the 1960’s at a time of cheap fuel when industry was not prepared to accept something different, because there was no need then for an alternative system to the bag and pallet. The first generation pallet-less designs were inferior and the cost savings insignificant. Times have certainly changed and the call for a new bulk bag system has come from industry, with a need to address pressing issues like worker safety, ISPM-15, load stability, along with rising labour and pallet costs.

"Innovative Tellap recyclable pallet-less bulk bags, which are becoming widely accepted by the logistics sector throughout the world, have been developed to meet the urgent demand for a cost-effective, safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly alternative to the heavy and expensive wooden pallet and bulk bag design," says David Dickinson of Tellap Australia. "This new single operator storage and transportation system integrates two light, stable plastic sleeves into a customisable polypropylene bulk bag, replacing the conventional wooden pallet with a totally recyclable hygienic design."

Tellap is ideal for many products including low density goods which can be unstable on pallets, or those used in bulky Gaylord boxes or fibre bins. Industry needs to ask the question “Why take up all that room in a warehouse with empty containers when a Tellap bag can be stored in a fraction of the space?”

Ongoing engineering has given rise to the next generation of Tellap bags. The new and improved base design provides the strength and manufacturing efficiency necessary to ensure these bags arrive at your premises as a consistent cost effective quality product.

The Tellap sleeve, which receives the forklift tine and replaces the old wooden pallet, has seen its own degree of improvement. Some Tellap sleeve manufacturing plants now use recycled ingredients and the implementation of a closed loop system which means sleeve material can be recycled when its useful lifespan is over. This ensures minimal impact on the environment. Constant ingredient analysis is performed to make sure the correct mix is used for enhanced strength and durability.

Further developments have also enabled Tellap to provide its pallet-less system in a baffle bag, increasing a user’s ability to store more product. Anti-static bags can also be used with the Tellap system, eliminating electrostatic discharge. Tellap bags with the re-engineered base can be stacked four high, ensuring stable, space saving storage of product.

The Tellap system, which is a truly single worker packaging system that eliminates dangerous trip hazards and contamination, improves working conditions and reduces labour costs. There is no longer the need for a forklift driver to waste time driving between the pallet stack and the filling station.
