Aurora, IN -- Innovative Processing Solutions (IPS) provided the engineering, project management, equipment, foundation and all the machinery for Watsontown Brick’s new grinding room. The grinding room process takes hard shale from Watsontown’s quarry to an apron feeder and a scalping screen and then conveys the shale to a Stedman Grand Slam impactor. From there the shale goes to finishing screens, is conveyed to two 100-ton silos and is then discharged via belt feeders.

The product is then brought to the making room and put through a molding machine where it is molded into brick. Watsontown’s new grinding room uses a Stedman GS-4260 Grand Slam™ Impactor for crushing the hard shale. The grinding room is designed with a 30 to 50 TPH capacity, however the Grand Slam can be configured to handle up to 200 TPH in other applications. The new system also includes dust collection, controls, 15 belt conveyors, one apron feeder, 4 screens, structures and two belt feeders.

Innovative offers conveyors in various facilities for bulk material handling needs. All conveyors are built to CEMA standards with standard widths ranging from 18” to 72” and available with painted, galvanized or powder coated finishes. Innovative uses easily available idlers, reducers, hoods and other commercial items.

Complete bulk material handling and processing systems are now available that include custom apron feeders, stationary conveyors, radial stackers, feed hoppers, CAD-designed belt conveyors, materials control systems and bins for blending or mixing.

Maintenance focused design and engineering services including system layout, specification development, complete manufacturing design, installation supervision or complete turn key systems are offered.

Innovative Processing Solutions, an affiliate of Stedman, provides custom solutions for processing systems and specializes in enhancing bulk material-handling systems. They use equipment from Stedman and other top manufacturers to create a variety of systems. Innovative’s primary markets include industrial, powder, brick, cement, chemical/CPI, detergents, food and aggregates.
