First
Portable Walinga Ship Unloader Delivered
Guelph, ON -- A first for
Walinga, it has manufactured its first ship unloader.
Country Ribbon in Long Pond, Newfoundland has taken delivery
of this exciting new piece of equipment. The ship unloader
is being used to unload ships containing corn, wheat,
soybeans, soy meal and other bulk feeds and grains.

The machine features a hydraulic
telescoping boom with a rotating suction head for 'sticky'
bulk materials. With 8" suction lines and a 12" discharge
auger boom the Walinga 8614SU maintains an average unloading
capacity of approx 120 tonnes per hour.
Click here to see a video of the Walinga's new Ship Unloader
in action.
The machine also features remotes
to operate the suction boom, and suction head while the
operator stands near the hold of the ship, giving the
operator better control over ship list while unloading the
vessel.
In business since 1954, Walinga
has been manufacturing pneumatic conveying systems for over
20 years, ranging from large commercial grain vacs to
smaller on farm pto/electric driven grain vacs and grain
delivery systems.

Sanitary, Open-Construction Weigh Belt Feeder
PEMBROKE,
MA -- Thayer Scale, a pioneering developer of continuous
weighing and feeding equipment, introduces the new
MWF-OS Sanitary Open Construction Weigh Belt Feeder for
processing of snack food, cereal, pasta, pet food and
any other application where hygiene and ease of cleaning
is important.
The MWF-OS can provide either
a "closed loop" gravimetric control of material feed
rate or an "open loop" control for precise convey rate
output and totalization of an uncontrolled or
intermittent material supply.
Belt velocity is measured
from the tail pulley, not the drive motor, providing a
direct measurement of belt speed which improves both
measurement and control of the material. The load cell
assembly can be easily removed, then reinstalled without
re-calibration of the feeder.
Founded in 1949, Thayer Scale
is a pioneering developer of continuous weighing and
feeding equipment for the dry solids conveying and
processing industries. Thayer's Belt Scales and Weigh
Feeders of both the Weigh Belt and Loss-in-Weight types,
cover an extremely wide range of applications in
virtually all industries that involve dry solids
conveying and processing.
Thayer Scale enjoys a unique
reputation as a supplier of equipment that provides the
rare combination of measurement precision and extreme
robustness. Equipment installed more than 40 years ago
continues to operate reliably and accurately.

Mr. Glover wants to find a
portable silo:
Please help direct me to a
provider of used/re-conditioned bulk portable silos which
are upright/vertical. Horizontal silos will work but
prefer upright.
Material is a dry powder
processed fine clay.
Thank You,

Mr. Morrison needs help with
pneumatic conveying:
I have an application for
transporting shredded paper waste from the end of an output
conveyor to a separator, situated over a baler.
The separator will be under a
negative pressure from a fan that will be blowing fine paper
dust into a dust collector. We have had some plugging issues
and I would like to see if the design has been properly
implemented.
My question - is there a
simple guideline for air volume required to pneumatically
transfer specific bulk densities. IE, 1 cfm per pound of
material with a density of 15lbs/cu.ft.
