Svedala Receives Two New Orders Valued At SEK 235 Million
------------------------------------------------------------

STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 2001--On Friday
(March 30), Svedala received its second major order within
the bulk materials handling area within a short period.

An order valued at SEK 160 million was received in February.
Combined, the two orders are valued at more than SEK 235
million. The equipment will be delivered and installed at
the MRN mines and at the Alunorte plant, both located in
northern Brazil. The orders were secured jointly by Svedala
sales company in Brazil and Svedala Bulk, USA.

Alunorte order valued at about SEK 75 million

The order was placed by Alunorte (Alumina do Norte do Brazil)
- a plant for recovery of aluminum production. The value of
the order is about SEK 75 million (excluding erection) and
comprises a complete bulk materials system for handling of
bauxite ore that is used for aluminum production.

Engineering and design work for the system was carried out
jointly by the competence centers of Svedala Bulk in the US,
Brazil and India, and all equipment will be manufactured by
Svedala plants in Brazil. The plant start up is scheduled
for August 2002. Alunorte is in an expansion phase and
intends to make more major investments during the next
years.

MRN order valued at SEK 160 million

MRN (Mineracao Rio do Norte) is the largest mine in Brazil
for recovering of bauxite ore. In addition to a complete
new installation the order also comprises engineering and
equipment for the expansion and modernization of the
existing mining complex. MRN has been a customer to Svedala
Brazil for many years. Favorable experiences from previous
deliveries from Svedala combined with a broad local service
network, were determining factors for MRN in selecting a
cooperation partner.

The value of the total order is about SEK 160 million
excluding erection. The total installation is scheduled
for operation in September 2002. MRN will also, in the years
ahead, make large investments in order to increase
production and enhance process efficiency.

Mining shows positive trends in South America

The mining industry in South America has recovered very
rapidly from last year's decline according to Joao
Colagrossi, Svedala President in South America. Many of
the region's major mining companies have announced
considerable investments for the years to come. Combined
with the order published earlier in February the division
has, during the first quarter, received larger projects
amounting to SEK 335 million in South America.

This is Svedala

Svedala is a world-leading supplier of equipment, service
and parts to the construction and mineral processing
industries. Svedala sales are partly through its own
Svedala House organization, which comprises 200 sales
and service units in some 50 countries, and partly
through a well- established network of dealers and
distributors worldwide. The Group's complete range of
equipment for extraction and handling of bulk minerals
means that Svedala can offer customers complete total
solutions for more efficient and more reliable processes.
In addition, Svedala has the broadest range of service,
wear and spare parts on the market.

Feed for Ten Thousand Tons of Prawns and Shrimp
------------------------------------------------------------

Ten thousand metric tons of breeding prawns and shrimp in
Saudi Arabia will soon receive their feed from a production
plant to be supplied by Buhler.

The National Prawn Company, which developed the project,
recently awarded the Buhler Group the big order for supplying
a turnkey plant. National Prawn is currently constructing
the biggest vertically integrated prawn and shrimp breeding
plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This large-scale development project is to become one of the
world’s most sustainable enterprises, thanks to the
implementation of environmentally friendly aquaculture
techniques and equipment. Buhler will supply the complete
mechanical and electrical equipment and will also act as
the general contractor in charge of constructing the steel
building housing the facility.

With this project, National Prawn and Buhler are taking a
novel approach in Arabia: Revolutionary new process
technology will enable shrimp breeding in the midst of a
desert landscape. Thanks to new developments, the feed
can be manufactured in accordance with prevailing needs.
The plant will have an hourly output of ten metric tons
of top-quality shrimp feed, making it the biggest of its
kind to date in Arabia.

Buhler is the global partner for efficient production
systems, engineering solutions and the associated services
in feed production, food processing, chemical process
engineering and die casting.

CEMA Reports Conveyor Industry Reaches Record Level in 2000
------------------------------------------------------------

NAPLES, FLORIDA, March 14, 2001 - The Conveyor Equipment
Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reports that for the sixth
consecutive year, record-setting growth occurred in booked
and billed sales for the industry. Booked sales totaled
$7.3 billion for 2000, and shipments totaled $7.3 billion,
both establishing new industry records. Booked sales eclipsed
the prior year’s record of $6.4 billion, according to Gregg
Goodner, CEMA President, who announced the results at the
Association’s annual meeting in Rancho Mirage, California,
in March.

Booked sales for unit handling conveyors increased by 15%,
and shipments increased by 26%. Bookings and shipments for
bulk handling conveyors increased by 5% and 4%, respectively,
from 1999 levels.

The pace of booked orders and shipments for the industry
increased 14% and 22%, respectively, compared with 1999. This
was led by an increase in six of the seven unit handling
conveyor categories - unit handling (light to medium), unit
handling (heavy-duty conveyors), trolley (light to medium),
tow conveyors, unit components, and conveyor chain. One of
the five bulk handling conveyor categories posted an increase
in booked orders (bulk systems), and two categories in
shipments (screw conveyors and bulk handling equipment).

Founded in 1933, CEMA is the trade association of leading
North American conveyor equipment manufacturers. CEMA tracks
seven classes of unit handling equipment and five classes of
bulk handling equipment.

The executives representing CEMA member companies who attended
the annual meeting were optimistic that year 2001 equipment
orders and shipments should meet or exceed 2000 record levels.
CEMA also makes available to both member and nonmember companies,
safety labels for all types of conveyor equipment, as well as
useful technical information and manuals.

DMN Introduces New Single and Multi-Port Diverters
------------------------------------------------------------

Single pipe PTD(sp) plug type diverter.

The single pipe DMN-WESTINGHOUSE plug type diverter has been
incorporated into the DMN supply program. This diverter was
previously known as the RGPU manufactured by Gesra (Gesra was
acquired by DMN last year). The PTD (sp) is designed to diverge
or converge solids in powder or granular form in dilute and
dense phase pneumatic transport systems.

Due to the modular design there are 12 different configurations
possible: the body remains the same, but the flanges can be
mounted as required. This gives all the conventional
configurations as well as an array of specials. The diverter
can be operated without stopping the gas stream, the conveying
of product should however be stopped.

Product information

The PTD (sp) single pipe diverters are available in sizes from
NB 150 to 350 (6 to 14-inches). The diverter angle is 35°,
with varying alternatives available depending on the mounting
position of the flanges. The diverters are manufactured out
of aluminum with stainless steel product contact parts.
Designed for a maximum system pressure of 3.5 bar g. and a
maximum product temperature of 120 ºC. A choice of static
or dynamic sealing is available.

M-TDV Multiport diverter

DMN launches a new range of multiport diverters in sizes from
40 mm to 150 mm and having 3 to 18 ports. The M-TDV diverter
valve can be used for both diverting and converting, has
inflatable seals and all product contact parts are FDA approved.
The standard version is suitable for pressures up to 1 Bar g
. and there is an optional version for pressures up to 3.5
Bar g. The connecting tubes between inlet and outlets is made
from a one piece tube creating a conveying line that minimizes
product degradation that could be caused by the diverting
angle. Available in three modules and 70 different
configurations.

Mr. Ashby needs a simple, manual sieve for herbal powders:

Looking for source of 40, 60, & 80 mesh sieve for pharmaceutical
use. Do not want to construct; must be ready to use. Size can
be 1'x 1'to 2'x 2', preferably 1.5'x 1.5'.

Mechanical (vibrating) sieve would be considered if portable.

Thanks,

Ubul needs loss-in-weight measurement with vibratory feeder:

I would like to establish a loss-in-weight measurement, where
a magnetic vibratory feeder is connected to the bottom of a
bin.

Does the vibration normally damage the load cells, or
influence the tolerance of the measurement?

I would appreciate your comments
