Introduction, Back to School Time is Here Again
------------------------------------------------------------
Kind of a slow week, this past week, as summer winds down.
We can tell everyone has been on vacation by the 'spread-out'
response to last week's newsletter.
Here in the US the kids are back in school, at least in Florida
and South Carolina. For those of you who are parents, we hope
you had a great summer with the little ones! (My 'little one'
is 17 and starting college, oh my!)
Now it's time to settle back down into the 'business' mode
and move forward.
Also, we had a number of emails from those of you who are Palm
Pilot fans. So we are going to re-list the special offer from
Amazon.com and include all three models they carry, in stock,
ready to ship.
3Com Palm V Organizer, their latest model is available for
$399.99 (a $50 savings), you can find it at:
3Com Palm IIIx Connected Organizer is available for only $329.99
and you can find it at:
3Com Palm III Professional Organizer is $219.99 and found at:
All the Palm Organizers usually ship within 24 hours.
Amazon.com also carries accessories for each organizer,
you can click on the model you have and there is a hot-link
on that page for accessories, for the model you have.
Amazon offers the most secure transactions on-line(They
guarantee it!)and one-click ordering, neat!
Thank you,
Joe Taylor

Powder Fluidization Made Easy
------------------------------------------------------------
Dispersion Elements
Tridelta Siperm GmbHs recently introduced dispersion elements
and fluidization units have been specially designed for quick
and economical installation into silos of almost any geometry,
whether round or angular.
These elements, are available as round spots and rectangular
cushions up to 1,000 mm long. Units are available in bronze,
rust- and acid-resistant stainless steel and polyethylene sintered
constructions and require no additional supporting structure
between floor and funnel wall.
Pore size of the high-permporous, sintered material can be tailored
to that ideal for fluidizing your specific product. In addition
to high mechanical stability and easy installation in silos,
elements from Siperm R and Hp are also characterized by their
high chemical resistance and suitability for handling food stuffs.
Seamless Fluidization Funnels
The new seamless funnels made from polyethylene are manufactured
from a single casting. In this way, not only is the
dimensional accuracy and quality of the surface greatly
increased, but also delivery time and costs are reduced.
Due to the lack of a weld seam, the through-flow of fluidizing
medium is even across the entire surface area of the funnel.
Because of the funnel-shaped design, only one element is necessary,
allowing for quicker assembly and installation.
Tridelta Siperm considers itself not merely a supplier of
accessories, but rather a partner offering system design solutions.

'Gentle Flow' Let-Down Chute Protects Friable Products
------------------------------------------------------------
A.O.Smith Engineered Storage Products Company is pleased to
announce the release of their line of 'Gentle Flow', let-down
chutes. The 'Gentle Flow' chute protects products that are
friable and break easily on loading in silos and bins.
Consider a material that enters the top of your storage silo.
As it falls to the bottom it impacts a bed of material with
tremendous pressure, potentially causing particles to break up.
Now instead of 0.5" to 1 particles, you are dealing with
minus 0.5" particles and finer.
The 'Gentle Flow' let down chute:
-Minimizes particle degradation
-Reduces top to bottom segregation
-Has durable construction and no moving parts
-Cost effective for all applications
How It Works
The 'Gentle Flow', let-down chute gently gravity flows your
product through a vertical tube that has a spiral chute within
it. Material spills out of the tube through strategically
placed slots to allowing for low-impact, pile formation.
With the 'Gentle Flow' approach, ease of flow is
accomplished by customizing the chute to suit your specific
product's needs. After the appropriate spiral slope and
chute diameter are established, the design loads can be
added to for your silo or bin configuration.
The result is a storage silo designed for value-added
performance today and for years to come.
A.O.Smith Engineered Storage Products Company (formerly
Peabody TecTank)is an ISO 9000 manufacture of bolted &
welded silos and tanks for the bulk materials market.
Offering their products under the Engineered Storage
Products, Havestore and Aquastore brand names. Their
silos and tanks are known throughout the world for their
rugged construction and durability.

Mr. Lamb needs help with flavors!
We need an in-line, bulk-solids feeder into a liquid flow.
We pump liquids into large mixing tanks. Right now we are
dumping our solids into the tank from the top, but this is
labor intense and unsafe!
We would like to have a system put in place to introduce
the solids into the flow of liquid while we are pumping them.
Our solids consist of powders, crystals, pellets, and granulars.
We are a food grade flavor producer with a steady increase
in the amount of solid ingredients we have to put into our
batches. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

Conveyorex 2000 and Industrial Handling and Storage Exhibition
Combine Shows in Birmingham
------------------------------------------------------------
The organizers of Conveyorex, DMG Business Media, are responding
to visitor and exhibitor feedback with a major new development
for the launch of Conveyorex 2000. Extensive research has been
carried out, following the 1998 event, to ensure the exhibition
truly reflects the needs of exhibitors and visitors.
The results of exhibitor research showed that 72% of respondents
would like the show to be moved from Harrogate to a more central
location in the Midlands - the most popular venue being the NEC,
in Birmingham.
The comment that the exhibition should run alongside another
complementary show, from James Dawson & Son Ltd, was typical
of the views expressed by exhibitors. Renold Chains Ltd found
the show successful, but said that they felt it should be
amalgamated at the NEC. The Automated Material Handling
Systems Association also replied that members of its Conveyor
Group believed the show should combine with another industry
in a larger hall.
In response to the industrys demands, Conveyorex 2000 will
now take place at this preferred location, alongside the
highly successful Industrial Handling and Storage Exhibition.
This draws approximately 19,000 visitors. Visitors to IHSE
2000 will also be attracted to Conveyorex 2000 as there is
a large degree of synergy between the two exhibitions.
In a post-show survey of visitors to IHSE, over 20% expressed
conveying as the product category they would most like to
see. This audience will now be able to source these products
at Conveyorex, whilst they source complete solutions to their
material handling needs at IHSE 2000.
The majority of respondents to the exhibitors survey said
that the co-location of Conveyorex 2000, with IHSE, was the
best possible move for the future. It is also good news for
the visitor. Feedback from Conveyorex research, showed that
industry is changing with most companies now reliant on a
small highly focused workforce.
Specifiers must find ways of sourcing complete solutions using
the most cost-effective, time-efficient means. The co-location
of these complementary exhibitions will now save specifiers
time and money, as all the solutions to their needs can be be
found under one roof. A range of packages will be specially
tailored to exhibitors that wish to exhibit at both
exhibitions.

The NEC, Birmingham
26-29th September 2000
