Space Saving Design

"Beefy" Dual-Cylinder Roller Gate is a "Smooth Operator"

Salina, KS - Salina Vortex Corporation announces its new Dual Cylinder Salina Roller Gate for handling dry materials in gravity flow applications where positive material shut off and a dust tight seal are required.

Click hereThe dual cylinder design reduces the overall length of the gate by 1/3 compared with end mounted air actuators. A shorter length and narrow profile ( 3 3/8" - 4 1/8") allow this gate to be used in many applications such as under hoppers, mixers, screw conveyors and silos, where overall space or headroom is a concern.

Properly sized air control solenoids and airlines combined with full stroke polymer blade guides provide for smooth blade actuation and eliminate associated seizing and binding problems. No metal on metal contact eliminates foreign metals in product.

The Dual Cylinder Salina Roller Gate is available in 6" through 20" square sizes. Optional rectangular sizes, stainless steel frame, square to round transitions and seal access port (for easy replacement of worn bonnet seals) are also available.

Salina Vortex Corporation builds their dry material valves one at a time. This way the valve is specifically designed to fit your particular application (unlike companies who may offer you an off-the-shelf valve designed to handle who-knows-what). Industries served range from plastics, minerals and chemicals to grain, fibers and foodstuffs.

BMH Americas is a provider of engineering and design services and manufacturing equipment to the Americas cement industry and globally to the engineered building products industry.

Click hereDr. Schäfer, Divisional Managing Director of BMH Technologies of Buxtehude, Germany stated: "The relocation of BMH Chronos Richardson to the Headquarter of BMH Americas will strengthen our commitment to the North American customers. BMH Chronos Richardson will benefit from the resources and expertise available in Dallas. In addition, this will also reinforce our expansion plans into new markets."

Testing is Imperative

Drexelbrook's New Overfill Protection System

With Redundant Technologies For Maximum Safety

Horsham PA – A spill prevention, overfill protection level control system that meets industry recommended practices has been developed by AMETEK Drexelbrook. The complete level control package is available as a single-stage detector system (high-high level detector) or two-stage level detector (high level and high-high level detector).

Click hereThe Drexelbrook package can be provided with two different alarm switch technologies, RF capacitance and ultrasonic gap switch. Using two technologies in this spill prevention package adds greater security to prevent tanks from overfilling. Both switches are loop-powered for reduced installation cost. The switches are connected to a receiver, PLC, or DCS system. The Drexelbrook package also provides Verify™ high-level integrity testing. Verify allows the entire system to be tested without removing the sensor from the vessel. Verify simulates an actual high-level condition without having to raise material level.

Testing of overfill prevention detectors is imperative. A high or high-high level detector used for overfill prevention is independent of the tank gauge system. As such, an overfill detector can be in service for months or years without actually seeing a high level condition. Verify ensures that the spill prevention switch is operational when a dangerously high level occurs. The Verify option can be performed automatically or manually. A PLC or DCS can be programmed to record the testing event for validation requirements.

Verify diagnostic circuitry monitors both the electronic unit and the sensor: it checks the integrity of the sensor, the operation of the measuring circuit, and the operation of the alarm output signals. AMETEK Drexelbrook is a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electric motors with annual sales of $1 billion.

Hot Messages from the Help Forum

People post their requests for help and offer their suggestions to others in our open forum.

Mr. Armstrong needs a clean silo:

I have a 12' dia. x 60' piggy back silo. We store cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) material used on electrical wire. The XLPE fines and volatiles have hydrolyzed onto the interior surface. Basically it now looks like fiberglass. We have tried to scrape it off without damaging the epoxy liner, but the material is etched right into the liner. Need some suggestions on how to clean without removing the liner if possible.

Ms. Standing wants a homogenizer:

We are looking for a used homogenizer. If you or your company may have one for sale. Please let me know or you may also contact Ian Brandt. His email is ibrandt@albionlabs.com
