Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura presents Ted Christianson
with "World Trader of the Year" Award
------------------------------------------------------------

As part of the annual World Trade Week recognition event and
World Trade Conference and Expo, Minnesota Governor Jesse
Ventura presented this year's World Trader of the Year award
to Ted Christianson at a luncheon on Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at
the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The World Trader of the Year recipient is selected by World
Trade Week Inc., a non-profit organization with representation
from international business, education and government export
service providers and has sponsored the annual recognition event
and forum for discussing international trade issues since 1976.

Ted Christianson, president, Christianson Systems of Blomkest, MN
has increased the company's focus on international sales with
great success. Christianson has been an advocate of the U.S.
government's export promotion programs and was among six
companies invited to testify before Ex-Im Bank's Small Business
Advisory Board on behalf of small business exporters.

Christianson Systems is a leading manufacturer of ship unloaders
and pneumatic conveying systems for bulk materials, such as
grains, feeds, fertilizers, and plastics. Christianson's
equipment serves the agriculture, commercial bulk handling,
and marine port industries in the USA and internationally.

MAC Equipment Names New CEO
------------------------------------------------------------

Monday July 26, 1999: MAC Equipment, Inc. has named Gary L.
Cavey president and chief executive officer of the leading US
supplier of pneumatic conveying and air filtration systems.
The announcement was made by Sam Freitag, chairman of the
board of MAC Equipment.

Cavey brings nearly 25 years of experience working in the sales
and marketing arena. He most recently was president and chief
operating officer of the industrial products group of Valmont
Industries, Valley, Neb., an international irrigation equipment
manufacturer and provider of equipment for communications,
lighting/traffic and utility industries.

A 20-year veteran of Valmont, Cavey grew the Industrial
Products Group into the leading producer of engineered
metal structures and provided other products, components and
services to various industries including communications,
lighting/traffic, utility and industrial OEMs. Cavey focused
on being the low-cost provider, superior distribution system,
fast-track introduction of new products and global expansion.
He succeeds Wesley Kuhl, who recently resigned.

"We are fortunate to have someone of Gary’s talent join MAC
Equipment,” Freitag said. “He has the vision, the leadership
and the energy to build this company into a major player in
this industry. He understands how to grow a business by working
with employees, independent reps, customers and suppliers.
This change offers tremendous opportunities to all who are
associated with MAC.”

Cavey joined Valmont in 1981 as national sales manager and
grew up through the ranks to become president of a major
division, a role he held for four years. Prior to Valmont,
he was with the Lithonia Lighting Division of National Service
Industries. He holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of
Nebraska, Omaha. He and his wife, Sharon, have two sons,
Scott and Keith.

MAC Equipment offers customers technology-driven solutions
to air filtration and material management challenges.
Specializing in pneumatic conveying and dry air filtration
systems, MAC has more than 30 years of experience working
with customers to create innovative solutions. Supported
by the MAC Service Center providing components and replacement
parts, along with two state-of-the-art test facilities, an
in-house process controls group, and a professional project
management team, MAC Equipment focuses on delivering superior
results driven by quality workmanship and a focus on
understanding and solving customers’ needs.

Centrifugal Separator Operates In-Line with Pneumatic Conveyors
------------------------------------------------------------

A new centrifugal separator (sifter) manufactured by Kason
Corporation operates in-line with dilute-phase pneumatic
conveying systems, eliminating the need for cyclone separators
and rotary air locks. Rated for positive pressures to 14.9
psig or negative pressures to 14 inches vacuum, the unit
separates virtually all free-flowing materials transported
by the conveyor, at equivalent capacities.

Rotating helical paddles within a cylindrical screening chamber
continuously propel and accelerate incoming particles through
apertures in the screen. The paddles, which do not contact the
screen, also serve to break-up agglomerated materials. Oversize
particles accumulate immediately upstream of a manually- or
automatically-actuated valve, which is opened periodically to
eject the trash into a sealed, quick-release receptacle.

Cylindrical screens are available in woven nylon, monofilament
or stainless steel, and in stainless steel wedgewire, to
accommodate a wide range of materials and capacities.

The sealed units offer a large inspection door for two-minute
screen changes and thorough wash down of all smooth interior
surfaces, and are available to 3A, USDA, FDA, BISSC and other
sanitary standards.

A wide range of sizes and configurations are offered including
low-profile models, twin configurations, and gravity-fed units
for sifting, scalping and de-dusting, as well as de-watering and
de-lumping applications.

Other bulk processing equipment manufactured by the Kason
includes circular vibratory screeners, circular fluid bed
dryers/coolers/moisturizers, and specialized separation equipment
of numerous types for sifting, scalping, classifying, de-dusting,
de-lumping and de-watering, as well as agglomerating and powder
coating.

Indian Seminar on Bulk Solids Handling & Processing
------------------------------------------------------------

This seminar aims at dealing various aspects of the technology,
including the dissemination of plant experiences & problems.
New developments in the material handling equipment and related
products shall also be covered. Design engineers, manufacturers
of such equipment & user industries can all benefit by attending
this seminar.. Presentation of technical papers shall be
by the experts in the field.

Numbers of processing units handle bulk solids including powdery
or granular materials. Their storage, handling, transportation
and processing pose tricky problems and nuisances.

Processing in a continuous or automated operating plant
can be disturbed due to lack of understanding of bulk solids
handling. Power plants, mineral processing units, cement plants,
complex fertilizers plants, pharma units and many others face
these problems and are charged for not meeting their full
capacity production expectations or the pollution control
requirement. The solution to all these lies in better understanding
of the bulk materials being processed in their plants.
