POWTECH 2004 : The Place to be for Decision-Makers

Click hereNurnberg, Germany -- POWTECH has been one of the world’s leading trade fairs for mechanical processes for powder and bulk solids technology for years. It has long been a must event distinguished by the effective density and extremely high quality of the information offered. POWTECH 2004 takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, Germany from 16-18 March 2004.

Around 550 exhibitors offer the 14,000 expected trade visitors the unique opportunity to obtain compact and comprehensive information about the latest developments in powder and bulk solids technology.

POWTECH, which is highly rated by both exhibitors and trade visitors due to its effectiveness, will again provide a complete survey of mechanical processing technologies and instrumentation. This offers outstanding information density for the trade visitors from the industrial sectors of chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food, quarrying and earthworks, ceramics, metallurgy, plastics and plant and equipment engineering on the three days of the exhibition.

PARTEC Congress again in 2004

The top particle experts from all over the world attend the international PARTEC Congress held every three years. This combination is traditionally a ‘must’ for experts from the chemical, ceramic, quarrying and earthworks or plastics industries and environmental technology.

The congress, with its associated events, has been extended to Particle Week for 2004 to allow congress participants sufficient time to visit POWTECH.

Powerful exhibition trio: POWTECH, TechnoPharm and ExploRisk

The TechnoPharm International Trade Fair for the development, manufacture and analysis of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, dietary and health food products will again take place at the same time as and in direct combination with POWTECH 2004. This will offer an exclusive information platform for companies wanting their plant, equipment and products to also reach specialists in the pharmaceutical, food and life sciences industries.

ExploRisk covers the whole field of explosion protection and industrial safety. It substantially extends the product spectrum of the exhibition combination. Products and services for explosion protection and industrial safety complement the other two trade fairs.

AccuRate : Mechatron Feeder Receives US Patent

Click hereWhitewater, WI -- AccuRate was recently rewarded U.S. Patent Number 6,568,567 for its Mechatron bulk solids feeder line.

The design permits users to laterally remove the feed hopper from the non-process side of the Mechatron. This feature allows access to the extension hopper without having to remove the hopper from the frame, which makes it easier to clean the interior section of the feeder. With the ability to remove the feed hopper, cleaning the nozzle without disconnection is also achievable.

Mechatron feeders come in volumetric and gravimetric models and can be disassembled, reconfigured, cleaned, and serviced from the non-process side of the feeder. Feed rates range from 0.002 to 1,100 cubic feet (0.057 to 32,160 liters) per hour.

AccuRate, a Unit of SCHENCK AccuRate, is a global supplier of bulk solids metering equipment and systems.  For additional information on AccuRate products, contact them at (800) 558-0184, by fax at (262) 473-2489 or visit  http://www.accuratefeeders.com/ Accurate

Fine Milling : Supermet Offers Tightly Controlled Output

Click hereLivingston, NJ -- Supermet Roll Mills, from Franklin Miller, provide dependable fine reduction of a wide variety of solids with an efficient once-through milling action. These units can produce an output in a narrower, more controllable particle size range than other size reduction methods.

The roll mills employ dual counter-rotating smooth, serrated or grooved rolls that mill, pinch and crack solids to an output range between 13 and 150 mesh without degrading the valuable qualities of the feed material and with low dust. Roll gaps are variable to fine tune the particle size discharged. These units can efficiently reduce such materials as salt, polymers, chemicals, grain, coffee, glass and more.

The Supermet 1010M built in carbon steel that features serrated 10" x 10" rolls, variable roll gap, a hopper feed regulator, automatic spring overload relief, a special output enclosure for a dust control system and oversized hopper.

Standard units are available in a variety of models and sizes starting with dual 10" long x 10" diameter rolls and larger. Mr. Schnabel needs help with "angel hair":

I have a Tuthill 5514-46L2 blowing through a venturi valve which is hooked to a 6" steel pipe, 2ea.-90 degree (Swoop) elbows, feeding a 60,000 lbs double coned conical blender. Total line length is 56'. We are dumping into a hopper which gravity feeds into top of venturi.

The problem is we are getting "Angel Hairs". I know that adjusting feed rate will help with reducing velocity. The question is, is there a simple way to determine proper feed, or is there a fool proof method of eliminating our problem?  (Click here to post a reply)
