Jacobs Awarded Schering-Plough's Contract
------------------------------------------------------------

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 2000--Jacobs Engineering
Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that Jacobs Lend Lease
has been contracted by Schering-Plough, the American
pharmaceutical company, to provide engineering, procurement,
and construction management services for a $100 million biotech
plant that will produce a new hepatitis C drug.

Jacobs Lend Lease is a jointly owned subsidiary of Jacobs and
Bovis Lend Lease.

The facility will be located on a 12-acre site next to
Schering-Plough's existing bulk manufacturing plant in Tuas,
Singapore. Front-end engineering and detailed design will be
shared between Jacobs Lend Lease offices in Dublin, Ireland
and Singapore, with Singapore responsible for the full
implementation of the construction.

Local techniques for structural and architectural elements
will be applied and integrated with a high degree of clean
room finishes, all complying to standards set by the United
States Food and Drug Administration and the international
specifications of Good Manufacturing Practice.

The project involves construction of a 4-story building block
spanning 700,000 square feet and comprises areas for
administration, laboratory facilities, a plant-room, production,
and a warehouse. There will also be a utility block for
chiller units, a cooling tower, a tank farm, and plant
facilities.

John Nine, corporate vice president of Schering-Plough, said,
"The biotech plant gives us a second facility from a
contingency standpoint. But it also gives us the ability to
make more products, fitting right into our strategy of
producing new drugs. We expect it to be completed in 3 1/2
years' time."

Barry Mann, managing director of Jacobs Lend Lease, added,
"We have a longstanding working relationship with
Schering-Plough in Singapore, and are pleased to be
involved in their expansion plans. By involving our
international and local resources, we are integrating
our expertise to ensure the successful completion of
the project."

Jacobs Lend Lease was formed in June 1999 to focus on
the fast-growing pharmaceutical sector in Singapore.
Total pharmaceutical projects under Jacobs Lend Lease
management in Singapore exceed $700 million.

Bovis Lend Lease was formed in 1999 by the acquisition
of the Bovis Group by Lend Lease Corporation and the
merging of the activities of Bovis and Lend Lease
Projects to form Lend Lease's new consultancy, project
management, and construction services division.

The company ranks among the world's largest construction
management specialists with over 6,600 employees in
38 countries and over 500 projects currently under
management, with a value in excess of $30 billion.
Bovis Lend Lease has created a pharmaceutical business
unit linking its pharmaceutical activities globally
in order to provide world class solutions through
their network of local offices. Bovis Lend Lease has
been established in Singapore for more than 27 years.
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is one of the world's
largest providers of professional technical services.
With annual revenues exceeding $3 billion, the
company offers full-spectrum support to industrial,
commercial, and government clients in diverse markets.
Services include scientific and specialty consulting

AccuRate Adds New Coni-Steel Feeder To Product Line
------------------------------------------------------------

Whitewater, WI - AccuRate has again expanded its new line
of MECHATRON feeders with the release of a new model called
Coni-Steel. Unlike the flexible walled Coni-Flex models
introduced last year, Coni-Steel feeders feature all-stainless
steel construction and internal agitation systems. Gary
Kuehneman, Director of Marketing and Business Development
commented, "Our goal from the beginning was to respond to
customer preferences, material characteristics and application
requirements worldwide. By offering both flexible walled
and stainless steel, rigid walled designs, we maximize the
range of feeding solutions we can offer."

Like Coni-Flex MECHATRON feeders, the new Coni-Steel
design features:

-Conical cornerless feed hoppers (patent pending).
-The ability to quickly disassemble, clean, reconfigure or
service the feed screw, motor(s) and the internal feed hopper
from the non-process without removing extension hoppers,
inlet valves, and discharge tubes (patents pending).
-Floor or hanging mount configurations.
-Totally integrated and pre-wired ("Mechatronic") volumetric
and gravimetric control packages. Profibus, DeviceNet or
Modbus fieldbus communications are optionally available.

Additionally the Coni-Steel model features:

-All stainless steel construction.
-Two stage internal agitator that can be conveniently
removed from the non-process side of the feeder rather
than from the top.
-Support for twin screw and vibratory feeding heads.

The new Coni-Steel MECHATRON® feeders are being produced
in both Whitewater, WI and Darmstadt, Germany for delivery
world-wide.

AccuRate, A Unit of Schenck AccuRate and a member of SPI
is a global supplier of bulk solids metering equipment and

Buhler Bindler: New Company for Chocolate Industry
------------------------------------------------------------

The Swiss-based global Buhler Technology Group acquires the
activities of Gebr. Bindler & Co KG in Bergneustadt, Germany.
For this reason the Buhler Group has newly founded the Bühler
Bindler GmbH. Bühler Bindler is specialized in the manufacture
and supply of machines and equipment for the chocolate
industry. In Bergneustadt, some 100 employees will be
retained.

Buhler is a global partner for efficient production systems,
engineering solutions and the associated services in food
processing, chemical process engineering, and die casting.
The product line of the Chocolate / Cocoa business unit
includes equipment and process stages ranging from the cocoa
bean to the finished chocolate, filling or coating masses.
It has gained a global leadership position in this market
segment. By integrating the activities of Bindler, Buhler
is expanding its range of products and now also offers
customized solutions for the molding of chocolate, biscuits
or wafers. The new company Bühler Bindler GmbH aims to
achieve annual sales of 30 million DEM.

Before Bühler Bindler was founded the possibilities of
development had carefully been examined. A large market
demand was found to exist for customized solutions. In
addition, the acquisition will generate synergies in the
areas of know-how and research, engineering, process technology,
production, procurement, sales and after-sales service. This
integration will now enable Bindler customers to draw on
the global know-how and the resources of the Buhler Group.
The company’s base in Bergneustadt will be retained. The
general management responsibilities for Bühler Bindler GmbH
will be assumed by Rolf Bullinger as General Manager, up
to now Commercial Manager of the Chocolate business unit
of the Buhler Group, and Guido Högger, up to now Sales
Manager in the same business unit.

Buhler achieves annual sales of about 1.4 billion (thousand
million) Swiss francs and has a worldwide payroll totaling
6500, of which 200 in the Chocolate business unit.

New Ultrasonic Position Control System is Ideal for Web Control
------------------------------------------------------------

LOGAN, UT -- Scientific Technologies Inc. (STI), Automation
Sensors Division, introduces the UC-WEB Ultrasonic Web
Controller. Optimized for the demands of web applications,
this position control system offers programmable filtering,
drive speed and ramp control, two programmable 10 amp dry
contact relays used to activate alarms, and a 2 line x 8
character display and keypad for easy programming.

The UC-WEB is designed to provide a direct interface and
control signal to many types of drives that are used to
control tension and speed on industrial web processes. Web
material can be any extruded or formed rolling stock,
including metal, plastic, paper, rubber or glass, among
others. The sensor is not sensitive to changes in color,
reflectivity or web temperature, as are other sensing
technologies. Ultrasonic sensors require no contact with
the rolling stock and cannot damage or degrade the product.

The UC-WEB operates by measuring an ultrasonic signal
generated by a solid-state transducer. The transducer can
be an electrostatic sensor (for clean environments), or
a ceramic piezo sensor (for harsh, industrial environments).
The ceramic sensor is designed for Hazardous Locations
and is explosion proof when installed according to
appropriate electrical codes.

The UC-WEB controller utilizes microprocessor intelligence
that allows filtering of the return signal to discriminate
the desired target from unwanted false echoes and
ambient noise. The controller specifically rejects
difficult to filter noises from broad spectrum sources
such as pneumatic valves and cylinders. The controller
program is designed to offer programmable features desired
by engineers controlling web tension and roll diameter
in their industrial processes.

STI has been selected twice by Forbes and three times by
Business Week as one of the "world’s best small companies.
" STI’s Automation Products Group serves the factory
automation, semiconductor, transportation, oil and gas,
consumer and food processing industries with a diversified
offering of sensing technologies. Products include level,
flow, pressure sensing, positioning transducers, vehicle
separation, profiling and ultrasonic sensors and controls.
