Toll Grinding Facilities Expand Services
------------------------------------------------------------
WEDCO, Inc., a global provider of size reduction, compounding
and related services, is pleased to announce the expansion of
both their jet milling and compounding services in the United
States.
The Jet Milling services are now offered in Texas and New Jersey.
At both facilities WEDCO can cost effectively process heat and
degradation sensitive materials such as waxes, plastics and
fluropolymers, to very fine particle size.
WEDCO, which already provides compounding services in Texas
and California, is adding compounding services at the East
Chicago, Indiana facility. This compounding line expected
to be operational by March 2000, will strengthen WEDCO’s
commitment to the Mid-West US market.
WEDCO has been part of the size reduction material processing
community since 1962. We offer our customers full service one
stop material processing. These include research testing and
cooperative development, compounding, warehousing, size
reduction and related services.
The highly efficient propriety equipment and processes located
at 19 facilities worldwide, enables WEDCO to closely control
particle size and distribution while enhancing material

Spray-Drying Toll Facility Opens Product Development Center
------------------------------------------------------------
American Custom Drying Company (ACD) recently opened a new
product development center for pilot testing.
Mr. Svend Heis Hansen, Vice President, Product Development
Division, advised that the center is a "fully air-conditioned
test facility consisting of a direct gas-fired tower spray dryer
which handles 5 to 10 gallon batches, an electrically-heated
spray dryer for one gallon batches and a continuous-operated
fluid-bed agglomerator with a capacity of 200 to 1,000/lbs./hr."
Hansen said that the new product development center became
fully operational in November 1999.
ACD is a privately-owned company with more than 30 years
experience providing custom spray drying services for Fortune
500 companies in the chemical and food industries. ACD is
KEMA ISO 9002 certified for the production of spray dried
products for the chemical industry and has kosher
certification for food products. The company is based in
Burlington, New Jersey.

Beacon Acquires Product Recovery Division of Hosokawa Micron
------------------------------------------------------------
CHARLOTTE, NC, – Beacon Industrial Group LLC announced it has
entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Product
Recovery Division of Hosokawa Micron International Inc.,
whose business includes equipment, products and systems for
product recovery, dust collection and filtration. The Product
Recovery Division employs over 500 employees in its operations
in the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa,
Germany, France and Australia. Beacon expects the acquisition
to close in early January 2000.
The two operating units within the Product Recovery Group,
Menardi-Criswell (industrial filters) and MikroPul (dust
collection) will report to Lacy Hayes, President of Beacon
Industrial Manufacturing LLC. Beacon Manufacturing also
includes companies acquired in October 1998, Pneumafil
Corporation (gas turbine filtration, textile industrial
filtration, machining and metal fabrication), LCI Corporation
(granulation and thermal separation), and Southeastern
Metal Products (metal fabrication and stamping).
"This acquisition is a perfect strategic fit with Beacon’s
focus and expansion plans in the filtration industry," said
Richard Bearse, Chairman and CEO of Beacon Industrial Group.
"The Product Recovery Division’s strong management and
established products fit well with our existing businesses.
With this acquisition, we will have over 1,200 employees
worldwide and approximately $300 million in revenue."
Beacon, which is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina,
has quickly become a leader in the industrial/commercial
filtration industry. Since early 1998, Beacon has acquired
and integrated twelve companies in the filtration and air
handling products industries in the United States and Europe.
Other divisions within the Beacon Industrial Group include
Beacon Industrial Distribution, a nationwide distributor
of filter products and Beacon Medical Products, a
manufacturer of medical gas equipment. In consolidating
and integrating the acquired companies, Beacon is able to
facilitate improved productivity, increase product
innovation and expand the customer base.

David wants to needs a tapered screw:
Information needed on tapered shaft, stepped pitch screw.
Does anyone know how effective the above screw is for overall
capacities in a choked feed screw conveyor? Also, who
manufactures such a screw?
