Stedman : New Cage Mill With
Flash Dryer
Aurora,
IN -- Stedman’s cage mill with flash dryer can de-lump and
dry materials, such as lime sludge, silica sand, copper
concentrate and gypsum (with up to 40% moisture) in one
step. A completely welded shell is able to handle
temperatures up to 1200°F. Standard cage mills can handle
temperatures up to 300°F.
Hot
air (temperatures from 100°F to 1200°F) is introduced with
the feed material and conveys de-lumped and dried material
through the uptake duct of the cage mill. Use the unit with
hot gas stream from within plant for tremendous fuel
savings. It controls moisture level of incoming feed to
maintain a 1% to 2% moisture level.
Other
benefits include:
· Stedman models offer capacities from 10 to 80 tons/hour
· Low horsepower requirement for energy saving benefit
· Low mill speed depending on material and moisture content
· Re-circulating oil system included with unit to control
bearing temperature

Processing : Rotary Mixer Blends, Discharges and
Sanitizes Quickly
UTICA,
NY -- Model 700-TH-50-SS, 50 cu. ft. (1.42 cu. m)
Sanitary Rotary Batch Mixer gently blends batches of
ingredients in parts as small as one per million with
100% uniformity in less than three minutes, evacuates
100% of the batch, and can be sanitized rapidly with no
tools, according to Charlie Divine, Marketing Manager of
Munson Machinery.
Intended for 3-A and USDA
applications as well as industrial applications
involving contamination-sensitive materials and/or
frequent product changeovers, the unit features internal
mixing flights that are spaced for easy access, 304 or
316 stainless contact surfaces with continuous, polished
welds having 0.25 inch (6mm) radii, and external,
removable seals.
The unit is designed with a
stationary inlet and discharge, and a rotating drum with
proprietary mixing flights said to tumble, turn and fold
material gently, imparting minimal energy to the batch
while achieving 100 percent uniformity in two to three
minutes, regardless of disparities in the bulk
densities, particle sizes or flow characteristics of
batch ingredients.
Unlike stationary mixing
vessels that leave a residual “heal” of material after
discharge, the rotating vessel and internal flights of
the rotary mixer reportedly lift and direct the entire
batch into the discharge spout for complete evacuation
with no residual material or manual intervention,
improving product quality and process control while
facilitating rapid, thorough cleaning.
For materials that clump,
agglomerate or otherwise resist separation into discrete
particles, an optional Pin Intensifier mounted at the
discharge gate provides size reduction capabilities
concurrent with blending.
Models range in capacity from
10 to 600 cu. ft. (0.28 to 17 cu. m) and are equally
effective in blending of batches that comprise between 5
to 100 percent of rated capacity, obviating multiple
mixers in some cases.
The company also offers
Rotary Batch Mixers in carbon steel, or stainless steel
with industrial finish, as well as Continuous Rotary
Blenders, High Intensity Blenders, and Ribbon, Paddle
and Plow Blenders. Size reduction equipment also
produced by the company includes Screen Classifying
Cutters, Centrifugal Impact Mills, Rotary De-Clumpers,
Attrition Mills, Hammer Mills and Shredders.

Mr. Sinfield wants feeders for
steamed rice:
Looking for help in sourcing
screw feeders capable of dispensing cooked steamed rice from
an overhead hopper. Rates of around 30 to 50 oz per minute.
This is the sticky rice, just
like the stuff at the Chinese restaurants, not dry uncooked
rice. Food grade, wash down duty, of course. Other types of
feeders will be considered as well.

Thank you,

Dhruv needs with a pneumatic
conveying problem:
We have made one pressure
conveying system by buying different components from
suppliers. This dilute phase pneumatic conveying system is
for output 5 tons/hr PET chips.
Now when we take a trial with
2 meters horizontal & 2 meter vertical distance, it gives up
to 7 tons/hr output. When we take trial with 20 meter
vertical & 40 meter horizontal distance with 5 bends, it
gives just 1.5 tons/hr output? the data is as follows.
Blower: Root blower up to 0.5
Bar pressure
Blower Capacity: Up to 700 M3/Hr...
Duty Point (with longer distance): 0.15 Bar at 600 M3/Hr.
Pipe dia: 80 mm, Bulk density 0.7gms/cm3..
Rotary Valve: 8" with sufficient size.
How this can be possible ? We
assume that with 0.2 bar pressure there must be huge leakage
by Rotary Valve which may result in only half of air flow OR
valve itself is not dosing material properly with this high
pressure... Whose fault is this? Blower, rotary valve or
system design? (Click
