Tank
Connection & Laidig tackle biomass industry
Parsons,
KS -- The Tank Connection Affiliate Group announced today
that they have teamed-up with Laidig Systems, Inc. to
address the growing needs in the biomass storage industry.
Laidig is recognized as a global leader in reclaim storage
systems for storing difficult to handle bulk materials
including biomass and various grain meals. Tank Connection
is a global leader in dry bulk and liquid storage
containment products.
According to Tank Connection
President, Bill Neighbors, “It was a perfect fit for Tank
Connection and Laidig to come together and form an affiliate
relationship. Our product lines are complementary and our
companies share in a similar passion to design, manufacture
and install the best storage products and reclaim systems
available in the industry today.”
According to Mike Schuster,
Vice-president of Laidig Systems, Inc., “Laidig has come to
recognize that Tank Connection has the most extensive line
of innovative storage containment products offered in the
industry today. Additionally, Tank Connection and Laidig
share similar beliefs regarding our commitment to customer
satisfaction and an aggressive approach to the development
of new storage and reclaim solutions. We are excited to
begin this new relationship.”
Tank Connection is the only tank
supplier worldwide that designs, manufactures and installs
all types of steel storage tanks, offering over 100
different types of storage containment products. Their
product lines, field services and global affiliated network
remain unmatched in the industry.
In biomass storage applications,
both companies will focus on bulk storage facilities. Tank
Connection’s RTP (rolled, tapered panel) bolted tank and
Fusion coating system is recognized as the top rated, bulk
storage tank/system available. Bolted RTP construction is
easily containerized and installed globally, utilizing a
specialized hydraulic screw jack process. This tank
construction process basically allows construction crews to
install large storage tanks at grade level, which is safe
and provides effective quality control in the field. This
will allow Laidig to install their premier reclaim storage
systems at any location worldwide.

Pelletron Corp launches
Pelletroneurope
Lancaster,
PA -- After significant business expansion in Europe,
Pelletron decided to establish a company in Germany to
provide even better service for its European customers.
Peter Siebentritt, former representative of the Pelletron
agency Momatech GmbH, has been established as Managing
Director of the new company.
Further Managing Directors include Heinz Schneider and Paul
Wagner. Momatech will remain sales representative for
Pelletron in the southern part of Germany, Switzerland and
parts of Austria. Pelletroneurope is responsible for the
sales and services in Europe.
The
new company is located in Vogt/Allgau and the new office
buildings as well as the assembling and storage facilities
are under construction. After completion, Pelletroneurope
will assemble DeDuster®, components and Pellbows®.
Pelletron, the world leader in DeDusting solutions and
manufacturer of the Pelletron DeDuster, expanded strongly in
the field of pneumatic conveying and established a new
component program, consisting of rotary and diverter valves.
Pelletron focused its sales in the Plastics Industry, but
also expanded in the minerals, food, and pharmaceutical
industry. Midterm, the company goal is a continuous growth
with stronger expansion in markets outside the Plastics
Industry.
"We
expect that Pelletron will grow significantly in other
markets, creating new jobs, and with our sophisticated
products and solutions, we will help our customers improve
their processing capabilities, resulting in better
products," Schneider said.
Schneider added, "We have developed new DeDuster lines and
Rotary Valves that will be ready for sale beginning of the
year 2010."

Jenike & Johanson present
courses for ASME/AIChE
Tyngsboro,
MA -- Jenike & Johanson engineers will be presenting their
popular powder and bulk solids handling courses for
ASME/AIChE in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 15-17 and Houston,
Texas on June 7-9 visit
http://www.asme.org/education/ for registration details.
The training will include
discussion of hopper flow patterns, testing of powder flow
properties and their relation to silo and hopper design,
feeder design principles, handling of fine powders and
fluidization, segregation of bulk solids, transfer chute
design, and the proper use of flow aids. The third day will
include a discussion of the fundamentals of pneumatic
transport and how to troubleshoot and solve problems with a
poorly operating pneumatic conveying system.
Proper training of personnel
involved in solids handling and processing is essential to
operating an efficient and reliable bulk solids handling
system. Since the theory of bulk solids handling is seldom a
part of formal engineering training, many in industry lack
an understanding of why solids handling problems occur and
what practical steps can be taken to diagnose, alleviate, or
prevent them.
Training helps to foster greater
awareness of operating efficiency, safety, and process
improvement, along with an understanding of the reasoning
behind required equipment modifications or upgrades.
