Assets Acquired

SCHENCK AccuRate Acquires the Assets of SolidsFlow

Whitewater, WI – In a move aimed at expanding product offerings and strengthening market position, SCHENCK AccuRate, Inc. announced it has acquired the assets of its former competitor, SolidsFlow, Inc.

Click hereSince 1975, South Carolina-based SolidsFlow, Inc. has been marketing dry material feeders, bin dischargers and material spreading systems based on louvered vibratory technology. Today, SolidsFlow products are especially well known for their ability to handle stranded fiberglass, abrasives and friable (easily damaged) materials.

Greg Fream, President and CEO of SCHENCK AccuRate commented, “The move demonstrates our commitment to growth through both internal and external resources. We expect the addition of SolidsFlow products and know-how to substantially increase our ability to serve customers in a number of important industry sectors including plastics compounding and drywall manufacturing. We’re excited and convinced we can make 1 + 1 = 3”.

Currently, efforts are underway to move inventory, manufacturing and material testing functions for the SolidsFlow products to SCHENCK AccuRate’s headquarters in Whitewater, WI. A sales & service office will be maintained in South Carolina.

The SolidsFlow name will continue to be used as a product family name. The various products will be sold by both the AccuRate and SCHENCK Weighing Systems units of SCHENCK AccuRate, Inc.

SCHENCK AccuRate, Inc. is a global supplier of bulk solids metering equipment and systems including MECHATRON Volumetric and Gravimetric Screw Feeders, DEA & DMO Weighfeeders, Multicor Solids Flow Meters, SacMaster Bulk Bag Discharging Systems, BEMP Belt Conveyor Scales and DISOCONT Control Systems.

New Cross Over WYE Line Diverter

January, 2002, Salina, KS - The unique patented design of the Salina Vortex Multi-Port Wye Line Diverter allows it to be modified to perform in various applications where a flapper or tunnel style diverter could not be utilized. One such modification is the "cross over" design.

Click hereThe Cross Over Wye Line Diverter allows the added flexibility of being able to pneumatically convey material from either or both of two origins to either or both of two destinations.

Think of it in this manner: There are two sources, A and B. There are two destinations, C and D. You can convey from source A to either of destinations C or D. You can convey from source B to either of destinations C or D. You can convey from A to C and from B to D at the same time. You can convey from A to D and from B to C at the same time. Imagine the possibilities this valve presents for your application!

Cross Over Diverters are available in 2" through 10" tube and pipe sizes with stainless steel, aluminum or carbon steel metal material contact components.

Salina Vortex earned the "Innovation in Powder/Bulk Solids Technology Award" in the Materials Handling Division for their Multi-Port Wye Line Diverter in 1998. This modification to that award-winning technology provides another winning product for the dry bulk handling industry.

Help Forum

Hot Messages from the Help Forum

People post their requests for help and offer their suggestions to others in our open forum.

Mr. Alexander needs help with clumping:

We are experiencing clumping together of needles of an organic salt in big bags. The result is that large and quite firm lumps up to 1m in diameter can form at the bag outlet and blocking it. It has been suggested that the water content is a key parameter has anyone experienced this themselves and solved the problem?

Mr. Duckworth needs packaging:

I am looking for a pack for up to 15 kg of a product with a bulk density of 0.5 pounds per cubic foot.  It must be easy to fill, handle and empty.  The emptying should not be a manual operation i.e. as in sacks.

The container can be rigid or flexible and I envisage a pack which 'plugs into' an emptying device.

All ideas (however weird and wonderful) will be gratefully received.
