TransFlo & UP Develop Chemical Transloading Network

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TransFlo Terminal Services Inc. today announced plans to open a network of bulk chemical transloading terminals with Union Pacific (UP) to extend service to non-rail served customers.

For Dry Bulk Transport

New Check Valves for Dry Bulk Flow-Reversal Protection

CHESTERTOWN, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2003--Dixon Bayco announces the introduction of new Model 3030 SQ 3-inch swing check valves for complete flow reversal prevention in dry bulk transfer carriers.

Click hereThese valves are designed to protect food-grade and sensitive dry bulk contents at temperatures up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Dixon Bayco's new swing check valves provide low-resistance and true full-flow performance. Computer aided design eliminates flow restrictions through the body. Its cast aluminum construction includes elastomer permanently bonded to the metal flapper. All swing check valve materials are food-grade and able to tolerate high temperatures.

In addition, the sealed, compartmentalized cartridge contains all functioning components - keeping them well away from the blower and the dry bulk contents and providing for quick replacement. A bolt on removable lid allows for quick inspection and flapper repair/rebuild without the need for removal from the dry bulk tank.

All Dixon Bayco 3" swing check valves are stocked at supply locations throughout the United States and Canada, with 24-hour delivery available on most products. Hot Messages from the Help Forum

People post their requests for help and offer their suggestions to others in our open forum.

Mr. Denome is looking to remix after transport:

During transport of a granulated material, the product has a potential for segregation. The materials are shipped in 25 kg drums, 18 to 27 per skid.

We are looking for a method of remixing the containers, one at a time or in multiples in a method that will demonstrate that we have a uniform particle distribution. One method in years past was to use a hoopla (?) mixer where the original sealed container would be strapped into a cradle and rotated for a few minutes.

I am looking for the appropriate equipment that can do this, end-over-end mixing may not provide the desired results.

Ms. Mondor needs help unloading coffee beans:

We are looking for solutions to unload a 55' container of approximately 150lbs green coffee bean bags in less than an hour without affecting the integrity of the product.

The solution should include the way to grab the bag safely, open it and convey it to the current dump station that is 12 feet from the end of the container.
