Lunch & Learn : "Hopper Retrofits to Existing Systems"

Jacksonville Beach, FL -- We are pleased to announce "Hopper Retrofits to Existing Systems" a new class by Joe Marinelli, in the Online Training Center. Click here for a Free Preview!

In Lecture 7, Hopper Retrofits to Existing Systems, Joe Marinelli of Solids Handling Technologies discusses several possible retrofit solutions to common flow problems. Joe will describe uses for liners such as TIVAR 88 and 2B stainless steel along with coatings such as electrostatic powder coatings and Plasite 7122 epoxy coating.

"Travel less - Learn more"

Geometry modifications are considered, such as wedge type hoppers, Diamondback hoppers, splitters and chutes. These modifications are practical and will resolve many flow issues.

Joe discusses inserts such as classical inverted, cone shaped inserts along with a unique cone-in-cone design. The cone-in-cone approach will allow the user to: modify an existing funnel flow bin to flow in mass flow, provide anti-segregating benefits along with blending capabilities.

Lecture includes downloadable class notes and a self administered quiz with answer sheet. The seven-day subscription allows you to watch and review this video class as many times as you need. All for only $39, payable via credit card online.

The Powder and Bulk Online Training Center is a virtual campus providing quality and targeted online training to meet the information needs of the bulk materials handling and processing professional.

At the Training Center you can learn about the latest developments and technology from leading industry experts - on your own schedule. Take our online classes 24/7, from anywhere in the world.

Smartphone Controlled Bulk Material Loading

Camden, IN -- LoadOut Technologies has unveiled a mobile system that allows bulk material operators to use an Apple iPhone/iPod Touch to monitor and control the loading process.

LoadOut is engineered to meet the demanding requirements across a variety of industry sectors including: mines, quarries, fertilizer plants, bio-solids, steel, trash, concrete, grain terminals, and asphalt.

The system was developed to improve safety and efficiency at material handling facilities. Focus has especially been placed upon sites that require one or more employees to control loading equipment at outbound commodity facilities.  This also applies to locations where the truck driver is expected to perform the process alone.

Adverse weather, loud noises, harmful dust particles and moving parts from motors are all inevitable realities within the industrial environment.  Respiratory issues, slips, falls, and number of other scenarios can make bulk loading challenging for employees. Aside from the affect on humans, these factors also reduce the effectiveness of site operations.

LoadOut is simple for people to use yet can be integrated into the most complex bulk material handling facilities. When the operator arrives at the loading site they just turn the system on, open the app, and visually monitor and control the process from their phone.

A number of features are incorporated to ensure safety of the operator.  Encrypted access, human response timers, and a uniform control sequence are a few examples. LoadOut is protected by US and Foreign patents pending.

Compact Vibrating Feeders with built-in hopper

Cleveland, OH -- The Cleveland Vibrator Company has extended their line of volumetric Rectangular Feeder Machines (RFM) to include the compact, self-contained RFM Integra Series, vibrating feeders with a built-in bulk hopper inlet.

This new Series has an integrated hopper and feeder design that relies on the actuation of two electrical vibrators to ensure a constant, reliable flow of castings, billets and other large parts. The design is also suited to a number of applications in the plastic, processing, powder, pharmaceutical, food, chemical, and foundry industries.

Engineered for continuous flow control, the RFM Integra Series eliminates the need for steeply angled hopper walls associated with gravity hoppers. The Integra models offer a lower overall height and hopper walls angled at less than 30 degrees for reduced material dump height. An adjustable swing out gate further aids in flow control and reduces the potential for hang up as material moves from the hopper to the feeder tray.

The RFM Integra Series can easily be equipped with independent variable frequency controls for adjusting flow rate. Special control features are available where timed feed rates or operation from a scale signal are required.

The Cleveland Vibrator Company RFM Integra Series is available in a wide range of feeder tray sizes and hopper capacities.

Since 1923, Cleveland Vibrator has been a leader in the manufacturing of industrial vibrators and vibratory equipment including screeners, feeders and tables.

From the Job Fair

Manufacturer’s Representatives Wanted

Moritani America Inc, the US agent for Exen Corporation, is looking for aggressive and qualified manufacturer’s representatives for Exen’s line of flow aid products, specifically air knockers.

Exen’s pneumatic Air Knockers just recently became available in the US and are quickly gaining popularity among a variety of companies dealing with material handling.

One big advantage of this product is that no electricity is required to operate the unit or the controller. Air Knockers also use a fraction of the compressed air compared to vibrators or blasters, making them an economic solution.

If you are a qualified manufacturer’s rep dealing with flow aid products, and are located in one of the areas below, please contact Moritani America to learn more about this opportunity.

-South (East of and including Texas, South of and including North Carolina)
-North East (East of New York, and North of and including Massachusetts)
-North West (Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington)
