Transfer Rates Up To 10 TPH

New AeroFlex Conveyor is "Built Tough"

Belleville, NJ -- VAC-U-MAX announces the launch of its new AeroFlex, flexible auger conveyor as part of their Aerocon Mechanical Conveying Division.

Click hereDesigned to compliment the already extensive range of pneumatic and mechanical conveyors offered by the VAC-U-MAX Group, the AeroFlex units provide an economic method of metering product from bulk bag unloaders, bag dump stations and storage vessels. Available in a range of popular sizes the AeroFlex Conveyors typically transfer product over distances of up to 40 feet and rates to 10 tons per hour for materials having a bulk density of 40 pounds per cubic foot.

Typical applications include the refilling of packaging machine hoppers, metered feed into mix tanks such as lime addition and gain in weight hopper filling. Unlike the vast majority of the units currently available on the market the AeroFlex has been "Built Tough" for the demanding environment of today's bulk handling world. heavy duty hoppers, support frames, discharge housings and robust hollow bore right angle drives are supplied as standard.

Also featured is a one-piece auger (not welded sections) that has a unique low friction section to assist in the efficient conveying of the product. The addition of the AeroFlex line continues the VAC-U-MAX philosophy of being to offer clients the Best Solution for the job at hand.

VAC-U-MAX specializes in design and manufacture of pneumatic systems and support equipment for conveying, weighing and batching of dry materials. The primary technology for conveying is vacuum, but positive pressure pneumatic systems as well as mechanical conveyors are used as applications dictate.

Unique Feeder Design

Colormax Introduces Posimax Additive Feeder

TELFORD, UK – At Interplas 2002, Colormax will exhibit for the first time in the UK, a new Posimax Additive Feeder. The Posimax is a new feeding mechanism for the addition of free-flowing additives (such as color masterbatch). It uses a positive displacement channel feeding mechanism to accurately control the flow of material by volume into the process. This patented rotating channel technology has been used successfully for some time in other industries.

Click hereWith rates between 2-200 l/hr, the Colormax unit has an unrivalled turn down and achieves this with excellent linearity over the full operating range. There are no screws or chambers, therefore no requirement to change these in order to reconfigure rates, as with traditional mechanisms.

Utilizing the principal known as lock-up, the Posimax achieves true mass flow and a highly uniform discharge. Its design is so simple that there is only one moving part and it is easily disassembled for cleaning.

The unit will be displayed as a stand alone single ingredient feeder, as well as, in a four station blender configuration in which it can be used volumetrically or as part of a Multi Weigh Blender. Colormax will also display its Micro Feeder, a unit similar to the Posimax, but with an operating range of 0.01 to 4 l/hr.

In addition to these products, Colormax offer a range of dryers, blenders and other equipment to enable them to handle single machine or complex system applications.

Inspect Products Packaged in Metallized Film

Lock Launches Triple-Frequency Metal Detector

Prominent inspection equipment manufacturer, Lock, unveiled its state-of-the-art triple frequency metal detector at this year's Interpack. Representing the most advanced metal detection technology on the market today, the MET 30+ 3f promises to set new performance standards for even the most challenging applications, providing manufacturers and packers with the ultimate in product protection.

Click hereThe MET 30+ 3f detector operates at three crystal frequencies - low, medium and high. The detector's Automatic Frequency Selection facility will choose the optimum frequency for the application in hand. For example, when inspecting dry biscuits the detector will automatically select high frequency, whereas for a product wrapped in metallized film it will operate at low frequency. The user can rest assured that the detector's microprocessors will optimize the settings - whatever the product or packaging.

In developing the 3f, Lock has built on the proven electronics that earned the MET 30+ approval world-wide, to combine ultra-sensitivity with inherent reliability. For example, two powerful 32-bit microprocessors in the MET 30+ 3f accelerate processing speed, so the product signal is interrogated 1000 times per second, providing reliable and precise detection. The MET 30+ 3f's built-in automatic product setup facility eliminates time spent configuring the detector and ensures consistently high performance by memorizing settings for up to 100 products.

The MET 30+ 3f is available with either the standard membrane keypad or the newly launched touch screen option. The rugged design of the membrane keypad lends it to use in harsh production environments. The user-friendly touch screen panel incorporates Lock's ADC software so the data can be viewed on the screen itself rather than from a networked PC or laptop.

Lock Inspection Systems has supplied checkweighing and metal detection equipment to companies in the food, pharmaceutical and packaging industries for over fifty years and counts many key industry players amongst its customers. Headquartered in the UK and the USA, with offices in France and the Netherlands, Lock has a global network of distributors and high caliber maintenance and research teams.

De-Agglomerate

The Definer - Advanced Ultra- Sanitary Mill

The Definer Model 2000 is an ultra-sanitary multi-purpose mill that introduces advanced design features and unique versatility. The unit is suitable for the de-agglomeration of pharmaceuticals, foods, wet and dry chemicals in laboratory as well as production applications.

The Definer has a compact body which only measures 5" from inlet to outlet. It is fully constructed of stainless steel. A straight flow-through product path eliminates the possibility of hang up or accumulation in hoppers and simplifies installations. The machine is easy to clean and can be disassembled and reassembled in a matter of minutes.

Several interchangeable mill designs are available for the Definer. A de-agglomerating element with teeth and combs features a positive once-thru anti-clog action, minimal temperature rise and extraordinary processing capacity. This design is optimal for reducing agglomerates and clusters to basic grain size.

A fine milling element features a high shear, rotor and screen design which gently mills and conditions the solids without degrading them. Also available is a knife blade design which is excellent for cutting of fibrous materials. The Model 2000 is provided with a variable frequency controller and direct drive for precise, repeatable and infinitely variable results.

An optional hopper is available, as well as a stand on casters for portable use. The unit connects to systems via its flanges. Purge ports permit optional inert gas.

Mr. Saravanan needs help with a spray dryer:

We dry a range of infant formula products in spray dryer with nozzle atomization.

Especially when spraying one product, we are getting a high level of deposits in the "bustle" area of spray dryer.  Which in later leads to burnt and black particles in milk powder.

The inlet temperature we run is 150 degrees C and outlet 98 degrees C.  After completion of spray drying of 40 hours, we are getting about 750 kgs of powder due to deposits.

Can anyone please give some guidance to solve this problem?
