"Quickly Load 20' & 40' Containers"

Rapidly Fill Containers with the "Bulk Thrower"

The "Container Loading" Bulk Thrower is the latest addition to the Redler range of  products.  It is designed specifically to load 20' and 40' containers quickly, safely and easily.  Redler Bulk Throwers are heavy-duty machines designed for capacities of up to 100t/h.

Click hereRedler Bulk Throwers are designed to throw granular material on to a pile or to spread it over floors. They are used widely in maltings for loading kilns with green malt and for spreading barley over growing floors. Other uses include piling grain, china clay, granite chippings and similar materials into bays and flat bottomed stores, together with ISO container loading and filling ships' holds with sand and gravel.

One recent application for the new "Container Loading" Bulk Thrower has been in the loading of plastic pellets from bulk storage into containers for transport from Europe to the rest of the world. The equipment could of course be used in other industries that need the ability to rapidly load bulk materials into containers for shipment.

Optional features include contact parts manufactured in stainless steel, variable speed drive and white, food quality belting.  The support structure can be supplied as a mobile freestanding unit or container mounted which is lifted into place by a forklift truck.  The integrated fan has a flexible connection to the thrower and is used to inflate the plastic container liner at approximately 400 cubic feet per minute.

Redler is one of Europe's leading suppliers of plant for handling dry bulk materials.  Through extensive knowledge of the many technologies involved in different materials handling installations, they provide complete systems solutions.  Redler is an integral part of the international Buhler organisation, based in Switzerland, with strong roots in many industrial, engineering and food processing activities.

For "Difficult to Handle" Solids

Cleveland Cascade Chute Installed at Cemex/Kosmosdale

PEBCO was selected for the design and manufacture of a Mark III design Cleveland Cascade Chute with a moveable trolley system for Cemex/Kosmosdale Cement facility in Louisville, Kentucky. This chute was designed for loading 1,000 tons per hour of cement into barges. This chute features lightweight fiberglass cones with abrasion resistant steel liners, a heavy duty shroud, a cement adapter with material probes and a special dust enclosure attached to the bottom. The Cleveland Cascade Chute requires minimum maintenance and operates free of product spillage and dust leakage.

Two of the most difficult products to handle are alumina and finished cement. The solution to loading these products is the Cleveland Cascade Chute. This design chute has successfully handled a diverse range of dry bulk solids from finished cement and alumina to calcined petroleum coke, calcined lime, wheat, soda ash, potash, phosphate, lead oxide, etc.

The truncated, oppositely-inclined cones, supported by straps and covered by a wind shroud, enable material to be loaded in mass flow at low velocity. In this way, the bulk particles remain tightly packed together; thereby minimizing the release of small dust particles. Operating on the principle of mass flow at low velocity, dust emission is minimized without recourse to secondary extraction systems, while degradation and segregation are considerably reduced. This patented chute has applications in ship, barge, truck, railcar, and silo loading as well as conveyor-to-conveyor transfer.

PEBCO Incorporated of Paducah, Kentucky has entered into an agreement with Cleveland Potash of England to manufacture and sell the Cleveland Cascade Chute in North and South America. As part of this agreement, PEBCO has purchased all the patent rights to the Cleveland Cascade Chute in these territories.

For Heat or Shear Sensitive Materials

PCS Offers New Toll Drying Service

Pulse Combustion Systems (PCS) has announced the introduction of its new toll drying service at its Arizona facility. The contract drying service is offered in response to customer demand for cost-effective drying of smaller production runs. PCS President Jim Rehkopf explains, "Many of our customers are testing new product introductions or evaluating the size of new markets. It's much more cost-effective for them to use our toll drying service until they are ready to purchase their own dryer to handle established product demand."

Click herePCS has two pulse combustion dryers available for toll drying, with water evaporation rates of 40 and 400 lbs per hour. Pulse drying uses gas dynamic atomization, which instantly atomizes and dries the feed material without mechanical shear, resulting in higher quality powders. Different configurations are available to optimize powder characteristics such as nutrient viability, particle size, texture and flavor.

"Our PCS spray dryer has been successfully tested with all kinds of food and dairy products, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, minerals and chemicals," reports Ken Price, VP Sales and Marketing. "Pulse combustion is ideally suited for drying heat/shear sensitive or abrasive materials. Plus, we've had remarkable success with nutraceuticals such as concentrated fruit byproducts, botanical extracts, and biotech products containing delicate protein molecules. In some cases, we've been able to produce freeze-dried quality powders at one fifth the cost."

The new toll drying service is offered at the company's state-of-the-art facility in Payson, Arizona, a 90-minute drive from Phoenix. Readers can schedule a test by visiting http://www.pulsedry.com/ , or may contact Ken Price at 415.435.4225 for a toll drying proposal.
