"No Compromise" IBCs

Optimizing the Choice of an IBC System

Ajax Equipment offers three types of IBC's in order to meet the performance demands of the industries that handle bulk solids. With over thirty years experience we offer a comprehensive range of quality IBC systems with designs incorporating latest developments in Flow Technology.

Gravity flow bins offer the simplest option for users, as discharge is simple and inexpensive. Gravity works for free and this is where Ajax flow technology supports the design to maximize gravity flow. By undertaking comprehensive powder testing we determine the geometry and outlet size needed to provide predictable, reliable flow with Mass Flow form of discharge if appropriate. State-of-the-art hopper design secures the maximum capacity in a limited headroom and reliable flow through the smallest outlet size. The result is the LynflowTM IBC system, that offers standard and custom designed gravity flow bins.

The Ajax Cone Valve IBC System provides flow stimulation and offers discharge control by means of the ISL Cone Valve. Designed by the inventor of the original cone valve this new generation offers significant improvements to earlier versions now still in use. There is no mechanism in the flow channel and it is much simpler and more hygienic in construction. It is cleaned and serviced in minutes. In combination with our in-house testing, design and manufacturing facilities and the comprehensive support in equipment accessories, this system can satisfy many demanding requirements.

Click hereThe ultimate bin system for holding capacity and guaranteeing discharge for difficult flow materials is the Ajax 'Invertabin' system. The bin geometry incorporates LynflowTM technology for bin shape, making the large outlet even more effective. Turning the bin over disturbs any time consolidation and improves the flow condition of the contents, without violent agitation that may cause fluidity and flushing.

The design has many advantages. With only one opening for filling and discharge there is no prospect of leakage, drips or mess in transit. As the name implies, the IBC is placed in a simple inverting frame where it is turned over to discharge. The IBC base is flat for maximum holding capacity whilst the large inlet offers easy filling and maximum capacity in limited headroom and hence a large outlet when inverted for discharge. The IBC is fitted with a simple, inexpensive weatherproof lid. The Ajax 'Invertabin' System, Less Weight, Less Height, Less Cost, and Bigger Opening ensures complete gravity discharge.

All Ajax bin systems can be served by slave lid seals for fitting and discharging through dust tight containment. Weigh systems, keg and sack loading, keg and sack filling, screw feed discharge control, tumbling stations and screw or pneumatic filling, discharging and conveying are available. The Ajax 'No Compromise' choice of IBC Bin System offers the most comprehensive designs to suit your needs.

Dismantles in Minutes

New Small Sanitary Valve

Click hereDMN-Westinghouse has designed and produced a low capacity sanitary rotary valve for metering purposes in applications where hygiene and ease of operation are a must. Typical applications for this valve can be found in the pharmaceutical, dairy, food and chemical industries. The complete valve can be dismantled for inspection and cleaning in a matter of minutes, thus reducing eventual downtime and, of course, production loss. Variations on the standard valve configuration are available on request.

  • Three sizes: DN 80 (3 inch), DN 100 (4 inch) and DN 150 (6 inch)
  • Made from DIN 1.4404 (Aisi 316 L)
  • Complete valve highly polished Tri-clamp connection for in- and outlet
  • Easy detachable, sanitary configuration Quick pull end disc rotor
  • Capacity 0.25, 0.8 and 2.5 litre / rev.
  • Direct drive with standard electric motor, DC or air motor.

Since the sixties DMN has been active in the manufacture of components for the bulk solids handling industry. In this period DMN has steadily expanded its international market. DMN products have gained access to the European, the American, the South American, the Australian and Far Eastern markets by means of an extensive network of Agents and Representatives.

Safe Application of Calibration Weights

New Lifting Device Enhances Belt Scale Safety

Peterborough, Canada, June 21, 2001 – A new lifting device helps you safely store and easily apply belt scale reference weights during calibration.

Click hereThe Milltronics Weight Lifter (MWL) securely holds weights above belt scale calibration weight arms, and enables you to lower them onto the belt scale weigh bridge for calibration purposes, then raise them again easily, all with a simple cranking motion. It allows safe application of calibration weights without the operator having to lean into the conveyor. No more stretching, lugging or exposure to the potential dangers between the belt strands. The crank handle is easily stored for safety when not in use.

With its modular construction, it adapts easily to different conveyor widths. The MWL is independent of the belt scale construction. It does not add to the tare load of the belt scale or affect the weighing process when not applied.

The MWL is suitable for use with all Milltronics belt scales. Test weight capacity ranges from 80 kg (175 lb.) on a standard duty Milltronics Universal Scale (MUS) up to 225 kg (500 lb.) on a Milltronics Single Idler Scale (MSI).

The design features a crank arm driven worm gear and a toothed drive plate combination which creates a high mechanical advantage of 20:1, allowing an operator to apply a large mass of weight with limited effort. A locking pin secures the mechanism and thus the weights in storage position ensuring they are not misapplied during production periods.

Installation is easy. There are just four bolt holes to drill after aligning the MWL gear modules (Left Hand and Right Hand) with the belt scale on the conveyor. After running the MWL empty to ensure proper alignment, and then tightening the mounting bolts, you are ready to load the test weights (the last time they will have to be loaded by hand). The easy-to-store drive handle can be applied to the left or right side. Milltronics is a leading brand of sophisticated measurement instruments used by the water and wastewater, aggregate, cement, mining, chemical, milling, food and other process industries.

Milltronics is recognized for superior service and technical support. Principal product lines include level measurement, dry solids flow measurement, and process protection devices. Milltronics products are available worldwide through a network of sales representatives and distributors.

We consider Outokumpu to be perfectly positioned to develop a fully integrated service approach for metallurgical clients on a global scale. In the future it will be our competence for solving clients' problems that will count and Outokumpu Technology will be best suited to fulfill these needs", commented Mr. Christof von Branconi, Chairman of the Executive Board of Lurgi Metallurgie.

Following the acquisition the special competence areas of Outokumpu's technology business will be within mineral processing, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, ferrous metallurgy, aluminum and sulfuric acid production, as well as customer service. The plan for the integration of Lurgi Metallurgie and Outokumpu Technology is currently being developed and the detailed integration projects will start as soon as the final approvals have been obtained.
