Bulk Bags : Portable System Simplifies Filling Trucks

Charlotte, NC---Spiroflow Systems has developed a semi-truck filling system including a mobile bulk bag discharger with an integral aero-mechanical conveyor that can be quickly and easily positioned.

The mobile Spiroflow unit eliminates the need to build elaborate frames or gantries as well as the high cost of silo installation. One unit can quickly be set up by a single operator. The bulk bags are lifted into place as needed by a forklift. Adjustable conveying angle allows different size vehicles to be serviced without any loss in the filling speed offered, since the aero-mechanical conveyor's throughput is unaffected by angle, including vertical.

The system is dust-tight and can be used for sugar, flour and cement or any powder, granule or pellet transported by road. A variety of bulk bag dischargers are offered to handle a variety of poor-flowing products.

Aero-mechanical conveyors comprise a rope loop traveling through a tube with spaced discs secured to it, creating a moving fluidized air current virtually eliminating material degradation, with no cyclone or filter needed to separate the product from the air.

Free Flowing : Sanitary Fluid Bed Dryer for Citric Acid Crystals

Click hereUhingen, Germany -- One of the biggest manufacturers of citric acid in Belgium has begun to use an Allgaier vibrating-fluidized-bed-dryer for a continuous production. Within an air stream of about 60 °C heat, the moisture of the crystalline material is extracted and subsequently gets cooled down to 22 °C. This fluidized dryer is made of stainless steel with a length of more than 15 meters and a weight of about 35 tons.

Such a size of vibrating dryers in sanitary version was not available on the market yet, therefore a completely new construction was necessary. The dryers are equipped with CIP/WIP cleaning devices. CIP/WIP is an integrated jet cleaning system that enables automatic cleaning which means a considerable reduction of maintenance effort.

Further innovations are:

  • Welded in outcrop plate, easy to clean
  • Processing with conditioned air (dehumidified and warmed)

The integration of the dryer into complete arrangements or the connection with other components is no problem. Dust removal which is absolutely necessary is intended to be done by a pipe filter system.

For sieving of the pour-able citric acid dried product Allgaier also supplied the screening system composed of 9 tumbler screening machines. The sensitive crystals are separated into 6 fractions between 1,25 and 0,16 mm. The capacity of the dryer/screening arrangement is 20 tons/hour.

Protect Your PC : Spam Prevention/Protection Software

Hi Everyone,

Being the owner of Powder and Bulk Dot Com, I have been inundated with SPAM emails this year, you know the ones that promise: money, better sex life, home loans, etc.  Since April I have been testing some different software packages for what I call "Spam Interception".  I prefer this method rather than having my emails blindly discarded without review.

Click hereMy recommendation is a software package which works with most email programs, including Outlook and Outlook Express.  Spam Killer 4.0 by McAfee has both preset filters plus free filter update service online, but most importantly allows you to quickly add filters based on keywords, domains, return email address, and more.  "Out of the box" it cut my 500-700 Spam email load by 50-70% and with a little tweaking it is removing about 90% of incoming Spam.

Most importantly, the software goes through my email files and automatically adds people I correspond with to its "friends" list.  It is a very flexible package.  You can buy SpamKiller directly from Amazon.com for about $20 and it is worth every penny.

Mr. Bare needs help with dust control:

A line vac is being used for material transfer from storage to a cyclone separator.  The problem is the sock on top of the cyclone is getting stop up with dust which lets the dust escape from the cyclone.
