Grinding : Union Process Produces Custom Attritor
Akron,
OH -- Union Process recently produced a custom dry
grinding attritor, designed and built to meet the
specific needs of one of its customers. Union Process,
known globally as a manufacturer of grinding and
dispersing equipment as well as related services,
manufactures attritors and small media mills for a broad
range of industrial applications.
As a manufacturer of ceramic
products, the customer needed to grind ceramic
materials, specifically alumina and zirconium, in a
metal-free environment. After reviewing and analyzing
the customer's specifications and requirements, Union
Process recommended a dry grinding SD-100 Attritor to
achieve the desired end product.
The SD-100 Attritor is
versatile and easy to maintain. To maximize efficiency
for this specific application, the mill was automated to
run in batch mode with pneumatically operated discharge
valves. Featuring a gross tank capacity of 155 gallons,
the custom SD-100 was equipped with tungsten carbide
sleeved arms and a ceramic-lined tank to provide a
complete metal-free system. The SD-100 Attritors are
produced with motors from 60-125 HP depending on the
application.
For more information on SD
Series Attritors or any of the other equipment in the
full line of Attritors and small media mills, contact

Mr. Terrell needs help with his silo
vent valve:
Whenever I am off-loading a
lime truck, my vent valve on the silo seems to release about
every 5 to 10 seconds, sending a dust cloud. Is this
normal or is there something I need to do to so I can get
zero emissions from my silo?
