3-Way Flex-Tube Diverter for Pneumatic Conveying
------------------------------------------------------------

Salina, Kansas - Salina Vortex is proud to announce a new
valve for the dry bulk material industry, their 3-way Flex
Tube Diverter.

The sliding-tube design allows for conveying of material from
one source to any of three destinations (or vice versa) and
eliminates material cross contamination. It is the best
choice for handling multiple materials in one system such as
color concentrates, food additives and multiple plastic
compounds.

Designed for use with dry materials in dilute-phase pneumatic
conveying systems, both vacuum or pressure systems with
pressures up to 15 psig. The Flex-Tube Diverter is available
in tube or pipe sizes from 2-inches to 6-inches in diameter.

The standard assembly has an abrasion-resistant, food-grade
rubber hose that can accommodate 150 degree F duty. An optional
stainless-steel flex hose is also available for highly abrasive
materials and even higher temperature duties.

The complete unit is contained in a stainless steel housing
that supports the assembly and ensures containment of
materials.

On-line Appointment Scheduling Allows Powder Show Attendees
to Meet with Exhibitors, Easily

NORWALK, CT - Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition has
inaugurated an important free benefit to its attendees and
exhibitors: the new Powder & Bulk Solids Appointment Scheduler,
an on-line tool designed to help customers schedule appointments
to meet during the exhibition.

Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/ Exhibition, produced by Reed
Exhibition Companies (REC), is the world’s largest and most
comprehensive showcase of dry processing solutions, and the
global forum for innovation in powder technology. The exhibition
will be held at the Rosemont Convention Center in Rosemont
(Chicago), Illinois, from May 9-11, 2000.

"Each year, REC adds new attractions and features to add value
to Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition," says Kevin
Richards, Industry Vice President, REC. "We are pleased to
offer our customers this exciting new on-line scheduler that
is sure to make appointment-setting a breeze."

The time saving appointment-setter allows web-goers to contact
exhibitors via the Powder & Bulk Solids website. By clicking
on the appointment setting icon, customers can select the dates
and times in which they would like to meet with the exhibitors
of their choice. Requests are then e-mailed to exhibitors,
who are able to confirm the appointments. The free service
allows exhibitors to check in and see how many meetings they
have prior to the show. As an added benefit, schedules can be
easily printed out to keep customers organized on the busy show
floor.

For more information on Powder & Bulk Solid’s new appointment
scheduler, call Mike Critser, Director of Industry Development,
REC, at 203-840-5324.

Redesigned NPE 2000 Conference, Now Organized by SPE
------------------------------------------------------------

WASHINGTON, DC, -- From the executive office to the plant
floor, virtually every manager, engineer, or technician in
the typical plastics processing company will find a
"must-attend" session on the program of the newly-redesigned
NPE 2000 Conference, it was announced today by the Society
of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI), sponsor of the
triennial NPE exposition and Conference. SPI released the
program (see enclosed copy) for the Conference, which
will be concurrent with the exposition and free of charge
to registered show visitors.

Working with the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), the
industry's largest international professional association,
SPI has revamped the NPE Conference to address not only
technical topics but business issues ranging from e-commerce
to equipment purchasing to site selection.

"We've designed the NPE 2000 Conference to be more timely
and practically useful than any previous NPE Conference,
and to interest plastics professionals in a wider range
of jobs," said NPE 2000 Chairman Vincent L. Witherup. "In
carrying out this new concept, SPE will draw upon decades
of experience as the world's premiere organizer of plastics
educational events."

SPE is now developing the full program, including all
presentations and speakers, for release in October, according
to William A. Humphrey, President of SPE. "Many NPE 2000
Conference sessions will provide briefings or updates that
attendees can immediately put to use on the show floor,"
Humphrey said. "This will be true not just in the obvious
case of the sessions on equipment purchasing or new
technology but even for the presentation on site selection.
Following that session, a processor thinking about
relocating to a new site can visit the booths of a hundred
or more area-development agencies, regional power companies,
and other organizations seeking to attract plastics companies."

Also during NPE 2000, SPE will present a professional
education program consisting of comprehensive seminars on
topics relating to design, tooling, processing, and materials.
These are separate from SPI-sponsored activities. Those
wishing to attend the SPE seminars are required to register
with SPE and pay an admission fee.

The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) was founded in 1942.
Its mission is to provide and promote the knowledge of
plastics worldwide. It is the leading technical society
in the plastics industry, with a membership of more than
33,000 professionals in 70 countries. SPE's web site is
http://www.4spe.org/

Mr. Canales needs a way to fill drums:

At our facility located in Monterrey, Mexico, we are looking
for a kind of funnel or connection from a 55 gallons steel
drum to a feeder (for dry powder). We want to have the feeder
and on top of this a funnel (connection)and then on top of
the funnel a 55gal. drum (turned upside down) in order to
"feed" the feeder.

I would like to ask you if you know a company that sells this
kind of funnels or connections, I will be very thankful if
you could advise me on this.

Thank you very much.

Mr. Purser is looking for a way to stop silo bridging:

I am looking for information concerning wood chip storage and
handling. I currently have cone bottom chip silos which hold
700-800 tons of chips. Bridging of the chips causes much work
and lost time. I am looking for a system to get the chips out
of the silo.

Mr. Jenkins is looking for a pelletizer:

We require a system to pelletize wood sawdust and bark. We are
looking for a second hand pellet mill and a second hand hammer
mill suitable for laboratory experiments. However we will
consider any acceptable system for preparing for pelletizing
the fiber. We are a research laboratory associated with the
University of New Brunswick.

Please contact me as soon as possible about systems you have
for sale or lease which you believe will satisfy our needs.
We have a proposal awaiting system availability.
