POWTECH - Forum With High-Quality Contacts
------------------------------------------------------------

The POWTECH International Trade Fair for Mechanical Processing
Technologies and Instrumentation takes place on the exhibition
site in Nuremberg from 27 - 29 March 2001. This international
forum for powder, granule and bulk solids technology is held
in high esteem by visitors and exhibitors alike. Excellent
quality contacts, in-depth discussions and noticeable follow-up
business are special attributes that distinguish POWTECH. Well
over 500 exhibitors and some 10,000 trade visitors are expected
at POWTECH 2001.

"POWTECH offers a high degree of direct contact with the
decision-makers from the engineering sector," is the assessment
of Dipl.-Ing. Klaus Hardt, Head of Process Technology at Allgaier
Werken in Uhingen, Germany. "The close cooperation at this
level gives us first-hand knowledge of the market requirements.
This valuable practical know-how is also incorporated in the
manufacture of our products and permits practical solutions in
terms of size, design and material qualities."

POWTECH and TechnoPharm - a powerful combination

The TechnoPharm International Trade Fair for the Development,
Manufacture and Analysis of Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Dietary
and Health Food Products will again take place at the same time
as and in direct combination with POWTECH 2001. This will especially
offer an exclusive information platform for companies that want
their plant, equipment and products to reach the specialists in
the pharmaceutical, food and life science industries.

New: ExploRisk

A new event in the Nuremberg combination is the ExploRisk
International Trade Fair for Explosion Protection and Industrial
Safety. This trade fair, which also takes place parallel to
POWTECH 2001, substantially extends the product spectrum of the
exhibition combination. Products and services for explosion
protection and industrial safety complement POWTECH and
TechnoPharm.

Niro Soavi High-Pressure Homogenizer "Panda 2K"
------------------------------------------------------------

The popular laboratory tabletop homogenizer, Niro Soavi model
NS1001L (also known as the Panda), has been further improved
in the new Panda 2K version. This versatile and improved model
is durable enough for continuous operation, enabling the Panda
to be available as a production unit as well.

The Panda is a standard tool for laboratory and small-scale
production high-pressure homogenization for the pharmaceutical
and biotechnological industries in North America and Europe.
Its ability to test small samples at very high pressures allows
laboratory studies on particle micronization and cell rupture.
The Panda is designed for scalability up to the total industrial
size range of the Niro Soavi homogenizers.

The Panda 2K design features includes:

Operation

-Continuous operation at 1,500 bar / 21,750 psi
-Maximum laboratory tests at 1,700-2,000 bar/24,650-29,000 psi
(subject to product fluid properties)
-Standard flow rate of 10 l/h, optional variable speed operation
of 3-10 l/h
-Operates with viscous fluids up to 2,000 cP (20,000 cP optional)
-Operates with temperatures up to 90 °C/194 °F
-Low hold-up volume of 12 cm/120 ml

Special Panda Versions

The Niro Soavi Panda homogenizer is also available in special
versions with higher capacities and with additional accessories
for feeding, after-cooling, etc.

Satake Launch The New PLSB Series 2000 Laboratory Sifter
------------------------------------------------------------

A comprehensive update of the 'industry standard' Simon
Laboratory Sifter, the PLSB incorporates a new drive system,
electronics, anti-vibration mountings and completely enclosed
body.

The unique planetary action of the sifter oscillates the sieve
table without tapping, in a motion similar to that of sifters
used in the cereal milling industry. This allows the Process
Control Engineer to accurately predict the separations made
in the mill and the Quality Department to monitor the
consistency of the flour being produced.

The Laboratory Sifter has uses in other industries including
chemical grinding, carbon black milling and seed analysis.

The sieve table has been specially designed to allow square
wooden sieves and brass round sieves to be used on the same
machine and is supplied with a set of either five brass or
five wooden sieves covered to the required specification.

When supplied with five 200mm diameter brass sieves to ISO3310
and BS410, the sifter meets the requirements of Campden &
Chorleywood Food Research Association (CCFRA) standards for
laboratory sifting, in accordance with FTWG method 0011a. For
CCFRA test purposes the sieves supplied are normally 1.7 and
1.0mm and 710, 500 and 200 micron mesh.

The company's web site at www.satake.co.uk provides
comprehensive product details and information about Satake's
unique milling processes.
