New Group Controller Adds Graphics, Recipe Management and More
------------------------------------------------------------
Whitewater, WI - Up to 16 gravimetric screw feeders, weighfeeders,
solids flow meters or pumps can be graphically configured and
monitored using AccuRate’s new DISOCONT® compatible, DG-2000
Group Controller. The windows-NT based DG-2000 software package,
installed on a Nematron® Industrial PC, provides dynamic
color-graphic displays to show the operating status of all
feeding devices at once or each device independently. Alarms,
feedrates, hopper levels, material usage and operating status
are displayed for each device. A touch-screen and graphically
displayed keys allow you to easily view more detailed information
such as performance graphs or recipe / formula configurations.
As a part of the DISOCONT® Gravimetric Control family, the
DG-2000 is fully fieldbus compatible enabling DeviceNet,
Profibus, Modbus or EtherNet to be used for communication
with other processes in the plant.
The DG-2000 is available as a software package only or
pre-installed on a Nematron® Industrial PC.

New Magnetic & Vibratory Products Available for Next Day Shipment
------------------------------------------------------------
ERIE, PA - January 31, 2001 - Eriez Magnetics has added ten
new items to its EriezXpress line of next day shipment products.
The program now includes 57 magnetic, vibratory and metal
detection products guaranteed for next day shipment.
New for 2001 are two light-duty bin vibrators with 15 and 20
cubic foot capacities, two feeders rated at 7 and 80 tons
per hour as well as a NEMA 12 control used to vary feed rates.
Other additions include a SafeHold® permanent lift magnet,
a suspended electromagnet with cable sling, a 4" RF cartridge
for gravity or pneumatic conveying lines, a NEMA 4 rectifier
and a 4-3/8" chromed magna roll for controlled feeding of
steel sheets. These items are featured in the latest
EriezXpress product brochure.

Outokumpu has Acquired Inprosys Magnetic Separation Business
------------------------------------------------------------
Outokumpu Technology Oy has signed a contract to acquire the
business of Inprosys Inc., a company specializing in rare-earth
magnetic separation systems. Inprosys is based in Colorado,
USA, it has 13 employees and the company's net sales is some
EUR 5 million. The company is owned by Mr. Bo Arvidson.
Outokumpu is strengthening its position as the leading separation
technology supplier to the global industrial minerals industry.
The Inprosys magnetic separation technology will complement
Outokumpu's physical separation product range, whereas Outokumpu's
worldwide sales and service network will enhance the sales
possibilities of Inprosys products. Following the acquisition
the annual net sales of Outokumpu's physical separation
technology will be around EUR 20 million.

Mr. Kibler needs help finding conveyor belting:
I am looking for a source for a trade or brand name of bulk
conveyor belting referred to as Slick Belt. I think its origin
may be European. I need general information on this please help.
Has anyone heard of this before. The only industry that I've
heard it used in is in gypsum, so far.

Mr. O'Donnell needs ideas on how to convey wet sand:
Need help determining how to lift dry, damp or wet sand used
in painting (sandblasting) operations off the roofs of floating
roof storage tanks. Sand must be conveyed up about 35 feet
vertically.
