Powders Show : New Eriez "Hi-Vi"
Vibratory Feeder
Erie,
PA -- Model 26C is designed for feeding up to four tons (3.6
MT) per hour and features a totally enclosed, dust and
moisture resistant patented magnetic drive, which extends
coil life and makes cleaning easier. Plus, the simple AC
controls operate the feeder with “watch–like” precision.
This
innovative feeder features a Hi-Vi Magnetic Drive Circuit,
powered by alternately opposing and attracting magnetic
forces, which assures low maintenance. There are no sliding
or rotating parts, power consumption is low and installation
is easy.
Stop by both Eriez Booths, #1237
and #2211 at the Powders Show next week.
Old–style electromagnetic vibratory equipment operates with
an inefficient attract release system: a spring–mounted
moving mass is alternately attracted by a rectified
pulsating DC electromagnet and returned to its original
position solely by the springs.
The
Eriez Hi–Vi system, on the other hand, incorporates a
lifetime permanent magnet (part of a spring–mounted moving
mass) whose poles are intermeshed with those of an
electromagnet powered directly by an AC line. This results
in the spring–mounted moving mass being both attracted and
repelled by the AC electromagnet equally on each half of the
AC cycle.
With
Model 26C, customers get all the features that for years
have made Eriez feeders the leaders in quality and
dependability.
Eriez
is recognized as world authority in advanced technology for
magnetic, vibratory and metal detection applications. The
company’s magnetic lift and separation, metal detection,
materials feeding, screening, conveying and controlling
equipment have application in the process, metalworking,
packaging, recycling, mining, aggregate, and textile
industries. Eriez manufactures and markets these products
through nine international facilities located on five
continents.

Great Western Introduces New
Sifter at Powder Show
Leavenworth,
KS -- Great Western Manufacturing will be introducing their
new QA24 In-Line sifter at the 2006 Powder Show. This
machine was developed for small to moderate production
volumes and to provide an economical quality assurance and
HACCP solution for food, pharmaceutical and chemical
operations.
The
new QA24 has a compact, space saving design while featuring
the same reliable Tru-Balance drive and pneumatic sieve
compression system as Great Western's larger In-Line
machines. The unit can be easily dismantled for inspection,
maintenance or cleaning by one person.
The
QA24 is available with two to five sieves with a net screen
area from 4 to 10 ft2. Typical capacities are from 25 to 300
lbs/min on wheat flour. The QA24 has been awarded Third
Party Verification of conformance to BISSC standards for the
design and construction of equipment used in the baking
industry.
Like
Great Western's larger In-Line models, the QA24 is designed
to be directly inserted into a vacuum or dilute phase
pressure pneumatic conveying system, thus eliminating the
need for additional equipment.

FT4 on show at International
Powder & Bulk Solids
Rosemont,
IL -- Freeman Technology’s FT4 powder rheometer will be
shown on the Particle Technology Labs, Ltd. booth #1156 at
this year’s International Powder & Bulk Solids
Conference/Exhibition ( 8-11 May 2006, Rosemont IL).
The
FT4 is an important analytical tool for PTL, used by the
company to deliver its powder characterization services for
clients throughout the US. James Cooke, Materials Scientist
at Freeman Technology, will be available on the booth and
will also deliver a paper to the conference entitled:
“Understanding powder behavior and predicting
processability” (Tues, May 9, 10.30am).
The
FT4 characterizes powders using dynamic measurements and has
evolved to incorporate a range of measurement regimes,
including shear testing capability and bulk property
determination. A state-of-the-art system, the FT4 is now
more accurately described as a universal powder tester that
enables powder properties to be determined in complementary
ways, in order to build the most complete picture of powder
behavior.
PTL
is a long-established laboratory highly experienced in the
characterization of fine particles. Operating under current
Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), it offers analytical
services to many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical,
environmental and food, health and cosmetics companies.

“LandlePellets” from a Feed Manufacturing Plant
Uzwil,
Switzerland -- Wood pellets are an environmentally
friendly heating fuel made from re-growing raw
materials. Vorarlberg is an Austrian federal state with
a wealth of forests where the state government promotes
such heating systems. Private homebuilders and public
organizations are increasingly switching from heating
oil to wood pellet fuels, which are being intensively
advertised in Austria.
“Unfortunately, we – the
production companies – are not receiving such support,”
laughs Bernd Hagen, general manager of LandlePellets.
But actually, he does not need any, since his company is
already the region’s market leader.
In 2004, the company put a
stateoftheart wood pelleting system into service
along with a new feed manufacturing facility. Both are
installed in the same building. The mechanical equipment
of the greenmeadow plant is from Buhler.
This is not only “because of
the outstanding quality,” says Hagen, but also due to
the geographical and human closeness: “Eastern
Switzerland and Vorarlberg are almost the same, also in
terms of language. Of course, we all know Buhler. Our
fathers and grandfathers already purchased plant and
equipment from Buhler.”
The term “all” refers to the
shareholders of the VMM (Vorarlberger Muhlen und
Mischfutterwerke GmbH), which evolved from a merger of
three small regional mills. Since Austria joined the EU,
they have teamed up to achieve a viable size. Wood
pellets is an entirely new business field for the VMM –
the millers and feed manufacturers have now all of a
sudden also turned into energy suppliers.
Pellets with high thermal
value
The pelleting process is
based on the same technology that has proven itself in
the manufacture of animal feeds. The pellet mill, of a
design similar to that used in the feed production
industry, has been specially adjusted to meet the higher
ruggedness requirements.
Before the wood shavings and
chips are fed to the pellet mill, they are reduced to a
uniform particle size. Then, during the pelleting
process, steam is added to the material, releasing the
lignin contained in the wood. Lignin acts as a natural
binder and imparts the necessary stability to the
pellets. As a result of pelleting, the weight of one
cubic meter of material increases from about 100
kilograms to roughly 650 kilograms. One kilogram of wood
pellets will yield about 4.9 kilowatthours of energy –
pure energy from biomass.
Customers demand top quality
with a low percentage of fines, that is, a virtually
dustfree product. “You can only achieve that with
Buhler processing systems,” says LandlePellets general
manager Bernd Hagen. “We exclusively process dry
shavings and chips from barkfree pinewood and spruce
from the region,” explains Hagen. At LandlePellets,
“dry” means a moisture content below 8 percent; the
standard is 10 percent. “This means our customers buy
genuine fuel, and not a lot of water,” says Hagen. “The
wood must be barkfree to minimize ash at the end user’s
site, which amounts to maximum 0.5 percent.”
Advanced flow chart for
animal feed production
The “LandleFutter” feed
manufacturing plant constructed simultaneously with the
wood pellet facility has been designed to enable
costefficient production of large volumes of
semifinished products. These are then blended with
various ingredients and additives into customized,
highgrade specialty feeds.
This system allows even very
small lot sizes to be produced. Individual customer
needs can be fulfilled in an optimal and costefficient
manner, which is indispensable in the agriculture of
Vorarlberg with its small farms. But it also offers an
advantage: By applying the blending production system,
heatunstable and sensitive raw materials can be added
at the end of the production process. In some cases,
this is crucial for achieving a long shelf life and a
high degree of sanitation.

Mr. Yao needs a "leaching
vessel" manufacture for quartz:
I'm looking for a leaching
vessel which to be used for High Purity Quartz (HPQ. For
preparing very pure quartz, always mix dilute HF and raw
quartz into a leaching vessel. Most minerals dissolve faster
than quartz in dilute HF and can be etched away to leave a
very pure quartz residue.
Could you please let me which
company are specializing in manufacturing leaching vessel
for HPQ.
