CPM Acquires Chinese Equipment
Company
WATERLOO,
IOWA --CPM Acquisition Corporation (CPM), the world’s
leading supplier of processing equipment to the animal feed,
oilseed, biofuels, food processing, and plastics compounding
industries, announces the acquisition of Nanjing Ruiya
Polymer Processing Equipment Co., LTD. of Nanjing, China.
Following the completion of the acquisition, the CPM Ruiya
Extrusion division will be aligned with CPM Century
Extrusion.
The
addition of Ruiya is a significant advancement in CPM’s
mission to offer its customers the finest engineered,
manufactured, and supported extrusion technologies, allowing
customers to achieve the lowest total operating cost
solutions for their compounding needs.
CPM
Century Extrusion President Bob Urtel announced the
acquisition from the K-Show in Dusseldorf, Germany, saying,
“We are proud to have the people of Ruiya join us as we
continue our mission to bring the very best products and
services to the worldwide compounding marketplace. Our
combined resources for engineering, manufacturing and
process support, along with the outstanding product
portfolios and service networks of both companies, will
shape the future of extrusion equipment performance and

The
combination of Century Extrusion and Ruiya will form a
powerful manufacturing and service network with a strong
team of application specialists that will compete on a
long-term, global scale to serve its customers. With the
addition of Ruiya, CPM’s worldwide primary process equipment
team will be over 950 members strong.

acquisition will significantly expand CPM’s portfolio of

manufacturing at all existing locations and will continue
the production of all existing product lines.

CEMA : Equipment Sales Up 11% in
September
NAPLES,
FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association
reported that its September 2007 Booked Orders Index was 225
up 79 points or an increase of 54% from August 2007's Index
of 146 (1990=100). The September 2007 Index represents an
increase of 11% from the September 2006 Index of 202.
September Booked Orders Indexes were 198 for Bulk Handling
Equipment* and 239 for Unit Handling Equipment(1990=100).
The
Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 156 in September.
Index in September represents an increase of 1% from August
2007's Twelve-Month Index of 154.
The
CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 150 in September.
Index in September is down 2 points or 1% from August 2007's
Index of 152. The September 2007 Index represents a decrease
of 3 points or 2% from the September 2006 Index of 153.
September Billed Sales Indexes were 213 for Bulk Handling
Equipment* and 140 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The
Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 146 in September.
Index in September is unchanged from August 2007's
Twelve-Month Index of 146.

Technical Sales Engineer Needed - Charlotte, NC
LCI Corporation,
an engineering division of an international company has an
opening for a Technical Sales Engineer at its headquarters
in Charlotte, NC.
This person will
be responsible for the sale of company products and
development of proper business relationships with LCI
clients in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Individual will be actively involved in marketing aspects of
the business including advertising, trade shows, sales and
technical presentations.
Individual will
also be expected to run test center trials, manage projects,
conduct equipment commissioning, and provide technical
support to LCI clients.
We require a
B.S. in Chemical Engineering (or related field), along with
3-5 years experience in technical sales of agglomeration and
material handling equipment, especially in the
pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. A strong
equipment/mechanical background is considered necessary.
Working
familiarity with standard office automation software is
required (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Acrobat, and
ACT) as well as the ability to quickly and effectively
conduct targeted online research.
Certifications
in the following areas are considered a plus: Sales,
marketing, cGMP regulations, validation,
electrical/instrumentation/controls.
This position
requires up to 50% travel.
