New Dense-Phase Pneumatic Screw
Pump
Libertyville, IL -- The Meyer Pneumatic Screw Pump is a
heavy duty dry materials injection pump designed to feed dry
pulverized material into a pneumatic conveying line. The
Pneumatic Screw Pump can handle highly abrasive, friable or
very fine powders that wear out other dilute phase feeders.

Unlike
rotary airlocks that require tight clearances to seal
against conveying air, the Pneumatic Screw Pump uses the
materials to form the seal. An integrated gate prevents
blowback, and the pump can handle temperatures up to 450° F.
According to Greg Buric, Meyer vice president and general
manager, "Some of the major markets for this pump are
chemical, cement and mining...markets that tax standard
rotary valves."
Other
benefits include increased conveying rates with less air; no
blowback, even when running empty; increased wear resistance
to abrasive materials; low profile; longer bearing life with
fewer system shutdowns; and overall reduced operating and
maintenance costs.
The
Meyer Pneumatic Screw Pump features a heavy steel channel
frame, oversize bearings, integral check valve, low inlet
hopper height, no product contact with the bearings, and
conveying pressures up to 15 PSI.
Wm. W.
Meyer & Sons, Inc. is a world leader in the manufacture of
dry bulk material processing equipment, pneumatic conveyors,
dust collectors, insulation blowing machines and vacuum
collection systems. The company is dedicated to developing
innovative machinery and committed to the highest standards
of quality, craftsmanship and customer service.

Dust Control : IEDCO's Containment Caps and Collars
Turnersville,
NJ -- Somewhere in every plant and facility, the
discharging of materials from a vessel to receiver is
occurring. But is it between two different diameter feed
points? And, most importantly, is it contained?
Whether it is keeping the
product safe and within a process, or keeping unknown
particles out, IEDCO's Containment Caps are the wise
choice when it comes to contained connections.
Simple in Concept & Simple to
Use
The idea behind the
Containment Cap is a simple one: connecting two
different diameter feed/receiving points without using
complex clamping or fabricated devices.
By using the 100% FDA
approved silicone Containment Cap, this issue is solved
in a snap!
-
Cut a hole in the center
of the Containment Cap that is smaller than the feed
point diameter.
-
Snap the Cap onto the
receiving point.
-
Insert the feed point
into the hole for a sealed, contained transition!
IEDCO can also provide the
tool to make the task of cutting a perfect diameter hole
in the center of the Cap much easier as well.
Containment Collars also
Available
Not sure if your receiving
point is compatible with our Containment Caps? We can
provide matching, 316 stainless steel Containment
Collars (both regular and sanitary) for just this
purpose. The butt-weld end makes connecting to your
existing receiving chute a simple process.

Mr. Iknud is cut and dose tea
leaves into bags:
I need somehow to cut tea
leaves (green, white and black teas) into even sizes. But
the tea leaves must not be smashed or broken down, but clean
cut.
I'm looking for a piece of
equipment which could produce about 10 -50 kg/h. Does anyone
know if such a machine exists and if yes where I could get
more info?
Further I'm looking for a
dosing unit/feeder which can handle leave teas of different
sizes. The quantities to be dosed are about 2.5 - 3.0 grams.
It should be able to dose
about 50 portions/minute.

Mr. Baracani needs
distribute/spread fine powders:
Hi all, I have a need to
evenly distribute a dry, fine, low density powder that has
been put into large bags (4' x 4'). This is currently done
by hand on a flat, light inspection table using blades to
push/spread the material around inside the bag.
It is very labor intensive as
you can imagine. The material needs to be as even as
possible because it then goes on to a pressing operation.
I am envisioning some sort of
vibratory table to fluidize the powder but others here have
suggested more elaborate roller systems etc. Any ideas or
companies that provide equipment to perform this spreading
function?

Thanks,
Bob Baracani
