Hedwin Creates MROLINERS.com to Sell Pressure Tank Liners
------------------------------------------------------------
Money-saving web site allows direct purchase of liners.
Baltimore, Maryland -- Hedwin Corporation, which invented
and pioneered the use of pressure tank liners in the 1970's
to facilitate quick cleanup and easy changeovers for users
of pressure tanks, is now marketing and selling its full
range of pressure tank liner products directly to the
marketplace via both standard sales channels and a newly
created web site called mroliners.com offering e-commerce
capability.
In parting ways with the manufacturers of pressure tanks -
who had been distributing the products under an exclusive
agreement with the company, Hedwin announced its intent to
drastically reduce the price structure of liners to the
marketplace. "We believe the expanded use of pressure
tank liners has been stifled by the high costs imposed by
tank manufacturers who have distributed our liners throughout
the years," stated Hedwin President David Rubley. "Through
the years, we have received significant feedback from the
marketplace that the liners' pricing was impeding increased
usage for in-plant MRO applications. We intend to offer
liners priced at levels that are more compatible with the
disposable nature of these products."
As a pioneer in the creation of pressure tank liners, Hedwin
believes the Internet gives the company another opportunity
to bring innovative change to the Industry: Hedwin has
created mroliners.com to provide customers with a fast, easy
e-commerce option to compliment traditional telephone, fax,
and mail ordering methods.
http://www.mroliners.com/ is the industry's first Internet
presence specializing in the sale and technical support of
pressure tank liners, says Hedwin's Marketing Manager Ray
Carlson, "We're excited by the web site's capability to
provide enhanced customer service. Overall, our new approach
to marketing Hedwin tank liners provides the market at large
with greatly reduced prices, increased customer convenience,
and enhanced technical support." The site offers live
customer service via RealTime Aide's "Fast Chat" service
for "on-the-spot" sales assistance through your web browser!
Hedwin is facilitating easy customer ordering by using a
dual product specification system that utilizes both
Hedwin's and the pressure tank manufacturers' part number(s).
Additionally, Hedwin is expanding its product line to
include convenient smaller packaging options.

Particle Board Market Leader Relies on Buhler Conveyors
------------------------------------------------------------
In the valley of the Loire castles in France, Buhler systems
convey wood chips that are processed into a new type of
particle board. These particle boards have mechanical
characteristics that are far superior to those of conventional
boards. The contract for the customized conveying systems
installed in this plant was awarded by Krono France to Buhler
thanks to Buhler’s innovation capabilities and leadership
in the marketplace.
The leading particle board manufacturer Krono, headquartered
in Lucerne (Switzerland), has decided to expand its manufacture
of particle boards of type OSB (Oriented Strand Board) to
France. The existing production activities in Poland are to
be extended to the affiliated company Krono France in
Sully-sur-Loire southwest of Paris. This novel type of
particle board consists of long softwood chips that are
coated with glue and spread in three intersecting layers.
Hot pressing imparts stability and cohesion to the boards,
in addition to mechanical characteristics far superior to
those of conventional boards.
Engineering and production within record time
Krono France implemented this extensive project with a
capital investment of 60 million euros in close cooperation
with leading international mechanical engineering companies.
Buhler was entrusted with the design and supply of the
chain conveyors for handling green, dried and glue-impregnated
chips. The awarding of the contract for this strategically
important project took place in an environment of fierce
competition. Several reasons led to the decision in favor
of Buhler: the geographical proximity to the local center
of competence in Paris, the international expertise inside
the Buhler Group, and the price-to-performance ratio. The
contract was managed within a record time of seven months,
with three months for the design and engineering work and
four months for the manufacture and installation of the
equipment.
High conveying throughput
To cope with the required annual conveying throughput of
300,000 cubic meters of chips (or 900 cubic meters daily),
Buhler installed chain conveyors with a width of 1.6 meters
and a height of 1.4 meters. The conveyors consist of two
laterally guided, forged conveyor chains connected by
rake-like conveyor elements. The chain conveyors are up
to 50 meters long, and their inclination is between 20 and
45 degrees.
Buhler conveying systems are market leaders
The demand for OSB particle boards is increasing sharply in
Europe. At present, a number of projects inside and outside
Europe are in the implementation phase. Buhler identified
this market development at an early stage as an opportunity
to develop a specific machine concept for this product.
The result: A new industry standard. Buhler has vast
experience in the development of mechanical and pneumatic
conveying systems. This provides the necessary flexibility
to offer systems tailored to the needs of customers. The
conveying systems are suitable for handling uncountable
bulk materials in many industries. The associated technology
is being continuously refined, for example for the
production of bio-energy or for installations designed
for making wood pellets used as a fuel for heating systems.

New Buck High-Pressure Active Valve
------------------------------------------------------------
Columbia, MD - The latest Buck innovation in the areas of
split-valve technology and containment is the new Buck High
Pressure Active Valve. It has the following characteristics:
-Holds against pressures up to 145 psig
-Maintains +29 inches of vacuum
-Docks with all existing Buck passive valves
-Available in 4" and 6" sizes
-Manufactured in 316L stainless steel or Hastelloy
-Available with all standard elastomers
-Manual or fully automatic control
-Conical disk with special pressure seal
Buck split-valve technology allows containers to maintain a
dust-tight seal while connecting with (and disconnecting from)
intermediate bulk containers and various process equipment
such as mills, dryers, blenders, presses, and compactors.
The design eliminates contamination of the product or leakage
of material that might endanger operators to less than
1 microgram/m3.
Buck technology is offered in North America by Niro Inc.
Niro Inc. is an international company specializing in the
manufacture of equipment for the production of materials in
