New : Haver Powder Trickle
Tester
Oelde,
Germany -- Which packing machine is the most appropriate for
the customer’s product? How can a more than satisfactory
filling speed be reached? These are the essential questions
the experts of the Haver & Boecker Research & Development
Centre are faced with on a daily basis. Having precise
knowledge of the product’s properties helps answer these
questions.
To
facilitate studies about this topic, Haver & Boecker has
developed various product testing devices that provide
valuable information for the specialists in filling
technology. Now the customers of Haver & Boecker can use
these proven test devices as permanent fixtures in their own
testing and quality control laboratories.
The
Haver Trickle Tester is such a test device. It is used for
determining the falling speed of loose, powder-type
products. Using this instrument, the trickle properties of
loose granular products are determined by measuring the
trickle time and by observing the trickle behavior through a
hopper under specified conditions. In addition the Haver
Trickle Tester can check different batches of the same
product for uniformity of quality.
Positive conclusions may be drawn from the tests results
regarding the optimum machine configuration that makes up
the process. Also quality deviations for the same product
can be detected.

Jay is looking for a rotary
airlock:
I am actually looking for a
high pressure rotary airlock that will handle up to a
constant pressure of 2 bar and steam heat up to 160 degrees
C.
I would prefer a easy
cleaning one as it is for food purpose. Does anyone know
where I can find them? We are designing a high
pressure steam blancher for food, which requires a feeding
and unloading airlock.
Beside rotary valve, what
another valve would do the job?

Thank you in advance.

Mr. Baylor needs help with
flowrate of falling powders:
I need to determine the
flowrate of coke falling down a series of vertical
concentric tubes. The apparatus is "telescoping".
I know all the dimensions of
the tubes. I don't think I can use just the bulk density of
coke because the material does not fall as a "packed" fluid.
Of course, there will be air and friction from the tube.
When I run calculations using
the acceleration of gravity, I get something like 1.2
million pounds/hr. Of course, I realize this is incorrect,
but I'm not sure how to go about this problem.
Can someone please point me
in the right direction. (to post reply, click here)
