Flo-Commander
------------------------------------------------------------
SPARTANBURG, SC, - Bindicator’s Flo-Commander is a simple and
unique product for controlling and monitoring the discharge
of bulk powders and granulars up to 1/2-inch (12mm) in size
with a flow rate of 500 lbs/hr to 200,000 lbs/hr (227 kgs/hr
to 90,720 kgs/hr).
It regulates a precise flow from any size storage container,
can be mounted at an angle, and offers a very compact design.
Through Flo-Commander’s display you can set desired flow rate,
perform calibration, and get maximum control of your process.
Doppler Radar technology accurately measures flow and provides
feedback to the display. A Flo-Gate opens to allow material
movement and oscillates for consistent material flow.
Flo-Commander has a rugged, fast-acting actuator, which
controls feed volume. A position encoder gives precise gate
position information for the ultimate in control technology.

Exhibits & Educational Program will Focus on Mining's Future
------------------------------------------------------------
MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2000, the mining industry's preeminent
and most comprehensive trade show in the world converges on
the Las Vegas Convention Center.
October 9-12, 2000. With 40,000 industry personnel and
exhibitors from the global mining community expected to attend
the event, this promises to be the greatest MINExpo® ever.
MINExpo 2000 provides exhibiting companies from around the
world with 600,000 square feet of exhibit space and the
opportunity to display their newest products, services,
technologies, and state-of-the-art equipment and machinery
for the coal, metal and agricultural and industrial minerals
processing industries.
Attendees, including those attending the XVIII World Mining
Congress held in conjunction with MINExpo 2000, will have
the unique opportunity to interact with over 1,300 exhibitors
from around the world.
Along with the exhibits, MINExpo will offer a comprehensive,
professional educational program for all attendees. The 23
sessions running concurrently over four days will address
today's pivotal issues in areas such as environment,
transportation, human resources, and the international
marketplace.
The health and well being of our environment is in the
forefront of today's mining issues and MINExpo will offer
a number of sessions dealing with topics such as air, water,
waste and reclamation. Session discussions will examine the
following issues, among others: Global Climate Change; Acid
Mine Drainage; Communications Aspects of EPA's Toxic Release
Inventory (TRI); Overview of Initiatives on PBT Substances;
Integrating a Closure Cost Estimating System Into the Mine
Planning Process; and case studies of various mine reclamation
projects.
Bulk handling techniques are changing for the better and
MINExpo 2000 will include sessions dealing with surface
transportation issues and bulk materials handling. Topics
of discussion include: Trucks and Shovels: Bigger is Better;
Dragline vs. Truck Shovel Operations; Load Weighing Technology
to Maximize Loading Productivity; and New Tire Technology.
The industry is evolving in the 21st century and today's
modern operations no longer resemble the mines of yesteryear.
Aspects of the business are changing, and today's mine
managers need to adjust. MINExpo will present several human
resource sessions featuring such topics as: People as a
Resource: Advances in Management Thinking; Maximizing
Scheduling: Searching for the Win-Win; Recruiting and
Training an Indigenous Work Force; and Changing Trends in
Health Care. Each of these sessions is designed to help
the modern mine manager run a safe, efficient and
productive mine.
These are just a few examples of the sessions that will
be held during MINExpo 2000. MINExpo's comprehensive
educational program will also include sessions addressing
crucial issues dealing with exploration, development,
processing, technology, safety and health, industrial
minerals and strategic alliances.

Mining Association. For additional information contact:

Mr. Russo needs help with milling pet food
I need to post grind a pet food ration (10 fat, 35% protein,
2% fiber) after a pre-grind with an hammermill 2.5 mm screen.
I would like to have a powder with particles less than 500
microns. I have to feed two different extruders. One of about
2 MT (2000 Kg)/hr capacity and another of about 6 MT(6000 Kg)/hr.

Mr. Marcelo needs help with powder density
We transport coffee powder from our spray dryer to several
hoppers using a dense phase pneumatic conveying system. When
testing the density at the hoppers, we find that the density
has increased by a hundred grams per liter. Is there anyway
to prevent or minimize this?
