Munson's new Rotary Drum Screen
UTICA,
NY -- A new self-cleaning Rotary Drum Screen separates solid
debris from wastewater at high rates with low energy usage
according to Munson Machinery Company. The unit contains a
rotating cylinder constructed of wedge wire screen with a
stationary doctor blade on the outside of the cylinder and
an internal spray line.
Effluent discharges from a head box, overflows a dam and
flows onto the outside of the rotating cylinder, allowing
water to pass through the wedge wire into the cylinder. The
doctor blade scrapes sludge and debris collected on the
outside of the cylinder, while an internal spray line
dislodges particles blinding the screen.
The
separator is intended for sewage treatment, pulp and paper,
rendering, pelletizing and other applications in which
solids must be removed from slurries in high volumes.
It is said to contain few moving parts and offer low
investment, operating and maintenance costs while minimizing
floor space and headroom requirements.
Models
are available with drums of 24 in. (610 mm) diameter in 24,
36, 48, 50 and 72 in. (610, 914, 1219, 1270 and 1829 mm)
lengths, and with drums of 36 in. (914 mm) diameter in 96
and 120 in. (2438 and 3048 mm) lengths. Capacities range
from 200 to 1000 gal/m (757 to 3785 l/m).
The
company also offers a wide range of bulk solids blending and
size reduction equipment.

Loadstar Sensors launches DS-3000 Controller
Fremont, CA -- Loadstar
Sensors Inc. has launched a new family of displays that
are built to work seamlessly with its successful line of
load cells. The new DS-3000 four channel display is an
integral device that incorporates display and controller
functions combined into one.

A user can connect up to four
iLoad series load cells and view individual and/or total
loads in three different units: Kilograms, Pounds and
Newtons. Additionally, a user can interface via USB
uplink to plot/chart the data to a PC. Optional relay
outputs allow users to activate relays based on load
limits in order to control up to 2 external devices.
The DS-3000 provides many key
features in order to simplify the process of building a
load measurement system:
* Accepts input from up to
four iLoad series load cells
* Automatically sums loads from all connected load cells
* View individual load cell readings
* Display resolution 0.01 - 999.9
* Display units include Kilograms, Pounds or Newtons
* Optional Lithium-Ion Polymer battery for backup
* Optional wireless: Bluetooth or Zigbee
* Allows connectivity to PC using USB uplink
* Optional relays control up to 2 external devices
* 4-Digit LED display with 0.56 inch tall digits for
easy readability

data directly to a personal computer's usb port," says
Div Harish, Co-Founder & CEO of Loadstar Sensors, Inc.
"For users who need to plot and chart the data we offer
LoadVUE software that allows users to log to a Microsoft
Excel data file. Moreover, a user can create intelligent
load based applications with the included relays that
can be turned on or off at specified pre-set loads."
