The "FulFiller" Container Loading System

Whitewater, WI -- For quickly loading granular or pellet products into standard ISO containers at rates up to 8,475 cubic feet (240 cubic meters) per hour, the Schenck Process FulFiller container loading system is the ideal solution.

The FulFiller is a high-speed belt-based loader designed to throw versus convey material the full length of either a 20-foot or 40-foot long lined container in 10 minutes or less when filling a 20-foot container. The throwing action does not damage the material and is therefore ideal for plastic pellets, refined sugar, grains, soybeans, animal meal pellets, wood chips/pellets, rice, and clay pellets.

Mobility is inherent in the design of all three FulFiller models. The Mobile Forklift Frame model can be moved by forklift allowing the unit to be hung on the rear of an empty container prior to the container being moved under the loading silo or hopper.

The Fixed Frame model is designed for use with silos that are always used for out-loading materials into containers. Finally, the Dedicated Mobile Frame model is mounted on wheels, which allows it to be easily positioned under the required silo without the use of a forklift.

All models of the FulFiller can load materials ranging in sizes of .04 to 1 inch (1-25 mm) with bulk densities from 25 to 75 lbs/ft³ (400-1,200 kg/m³). A hydraulic lift table that allows the thrower height to be adjusted to suit varying trailer or container configurations is optionally available.

Schenck Process is a global supplier of bulk solids metering equipment and systems including Mechatron® volumetric and gravimetric screw feeders, PureFeed® sanitary feeders, DEA and DMO weighfeeders, Multicor® and DLM solids flow meters, SacMaster® bulk bag discharging systems, BEMP™ belt scales, SolidsFlow vibratory feeders and Discont® gravimetric control systems.

Platypus Dust Valve for Powder Handling

CLEVELAND, OH -- Aerodyne, a division of Abanaki Corporation, announces the new Vacu-Valve Platypus, one of the lowest-cost, lowest-maintenance dust collector valves available. The Vacu-Valve Platypus operates as a constant discharge valve for dust collectors, hoppers, cyclones and other equipment operating under negative pressure.

Its unique duck bill design allows it to dispense free-flowing material continuously. The low-maintenance Platypus requires no lubrication or power source and has no controls. It's ideal for "keep empty" dust collection units and is available in carbon steel or stainless steel versions. The replaceable duck bill sleeves are available in neoprene, viton or white nitrile, making the unit suitable for general use, high-temperature or food grade applications.

Typical industries that use the Vacu-Valves include foundry, mining, cement, pharmaceutical, dry foods, plastics, chemical and manufacturing.

Aerodyne Vacu-Valves have been efficiently and economically emptying particulate from dust collectors and bag houses for more than 40 years. Aerodyne offers a range of valves, including rotary, double dump, slide gate, knife and screw-type valves. Aerodyne dust collection systems have been used in a wide range of industries since 1949. The material-handling valves are one of the longest lasting and durable in the powder and bulk handling industry.

Now part of the Abanaki family of products, Aerodyne supplies custom-designed (turnkey) pollution control systems as well as individual components for a wide variety of applications. Headquartered in Cleveland Ohio, Abanaki has served a global customer base in industries as diverse as iron and steel, wastewater, paper, food processing, automotive, environmental remediation and recycling for more than 40 years.

Help Forum : Hot Messages from the Help Forum

People post their requests for help and offer their suggestions to others in our open forum.

Dr. Campbell needs help with flow and shear calcs:

solid_dispensing.jpgI would really appreciate it if someone could help me by pointing me in the right direction. I wish to know how to calculating the shear stress / rate and flow dynamics of a conical hopper with a rotary screw to feed.

These systems are used on our high throughput robotic synthesis and formulation platforms and I am trying to expand our predictive dispensing optimization software for liquids, viscous liquids and solids. (see attached photo)

If someone could be so kind to give us a reference to the correct testing / measurement method and equations for calculation it could really help me out as flow dynamics is not my strong point.  (to post reply, click here)
