Diesel leaking from car in underground car park

At 6:08 pm, the Waidhofen/Thaya Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to a polluting activity in the town of Waidhofen. Cause: Resource leakage in underground car park on Raiffeisenpromenade.

Shortly after leaving his parking space in the underground car park, the driver of the Audi noticed fluid leaking from his engine compartment and he had already taken a short cut in the underground car park. He stopped his vehicle and was able to resolve the cause together with the ÖAMTC breakdown service called for assistance. The driver called the emergency number of the fire department and requested support from the Wythofen/Taya fire department to remove the spilled diesel.

Shortly after the alarm was raised, 12 people from the city fire department rushed to the nearby underground car park. The oil binding agent was immediately applied to the spilled fuel, thereby binding the diesel. The bonding agent is then re-added and the road surface cleaned.

The operation was completed at 6.33 pm.
