A 26-year-old youth from Pongau area was caught racing on the Western Highway on Monday night, without a driving license and under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Police say 220 km/h. The 26-year-old should expect multiple charges.

After the A7 entrance, the police were able to observe a car traveling at a significantly excessive speed on the Westatopbahn (A1) in the direction of Salzburg from Vienna around 1 a.m. on Monday. During the follow-up movement, the police patrol fixed the maximum speed up to 220 km/h with a restriction of 130 km/h, the administrator said in a release.

Finally the car stopped in Aston area. Authorities conducted a breathalyzer test on the 26-year-old Romanian driver from Pongau. It went well. Police officials also observed signs of impairment due to drug use in the driver. A medical officer confirmed that the drug test was positive and the driver was unfit to drive. Also, the 26-year-old does not have a valid driving license. He was banned from continuing his journey and now faces several charges.
