This Friday, June 7th, there will be some strong thunderstorms again across Austria. First comers have already arrived. So the “Severe Weather Warning Center” has already marked parts of Austria as “red”.

A second severe thunderstorm warning level “Severe Weather Warning Center” – meaning “red” – as of 2:15 p.m., some areas in Austria are already equipped. Yesterday supercells moved mainly over Vienna and Graz and provided breathtaking images, especially outside the Styrian capital – more on that here – with thunderstorms currently returning to Styria.

Weather warning for parts of southeastern Austria and Carinthia

“The first thunderstorms have formed in the Mur and Murs valleys and in the Waldviertel,” says “Skywarn Austria” on Facebook. Accordingly, heavy rain, hail up to two centimeters and gusty winds are expected. But that’s probably the beginning of today. The southeastern part of Austria in particular is expected to be particularly hard hit today. A “major thunderstorm front” may bring, among other things, large hail. “Geosphere Austria” also issued a weather warning for parts of Carinthia.
