Fellow students beat the student to death

Brutal attack on student in Montpellier has shocked France. Education Minister Nicole Belloubet said on BFMTV on Thursday: “There are no words to describe the shock we all felt.” The 13- or 14-year-old student, who was critically injured in Tuesday's attack, experienced incredible violence. “This is completely inexcusable and despicable.”

Macron also responded to the accusation

The minister said he wanted to know everything about the months, weeks and hours leading up to the attack. An inter-agency monitoring committee will conduct inquiries into the college from Friday. President Emmanuel Macron also said that nothing justifies attacks by colleagues. He expressed his solidarity with the girl and her family.

Meanwhile, the girl was in a coma

The Montpellier public prosecutor's office announced that a student was attacked by three men in front of her school on Tuesday afternoon. The critically injured girl is now in a coma. A 14-year-old classmate has now confessed to beating the girl. Two more youths aged 14 and 15 have been arrested.

The mother of the assaulted girl told BFMTV that the arrested fellow student targeted and bullied her daughter. The school itself warned on Tuesday that youths were waiting for her daughter in front of the school grounds and to take her away. Despite her pleas, they didn't wait for her to arrive and instead dropped her daughter off at school early.
