Outnumbered! Sturm II struggles for balance in Säumel's debut

On Matchday 17 of the Admiral 2nd League, Sturm II and First Vienna drew 1-1. Sturm head coach Jürgen Sammel experienced a roller coaster of emotions on his debut.

First he had to watch his team concede a goal before half-time in Wiener Neustadt. Bishop presses the ball into the net after Oakes' cross pass (44th). Overall, a well-deserved lead for the over-game Döblingers.

Säumel must be shaking in the arena

After the break, things get hectic. In the early stages of the second half, defender Haider was cautioned twice within four minutes (51st, 55th). Sturm II must survive in numbers for more than half an hour.

However, Cross equalized. A standard situation should rectify that, Ilic's corner Scharmer uses the inside post to push the ball into the goal (58th) – Sturm II is back in the game. Shortly after, Jürgen Sammel had to leave the field as he was sent to the stands by referee Greenecker (67th).

In the end Sturm II was rocked 1:1. After five consecutive defeats, this draw at least has a small sense of achievement. Cross are in danger of dropping to 14th place. First Vienna is seventh with 26 points.
